LIFE SPACE INVESTIGATION: Born in April 1952 pt is the youngest amongst 3 sisters and a brother. She was born and brought up in Kashmir with MGP’s. She had a beautiful childhood. She was good student. It was singers family so she had to learn some form of music. In 1976 she had an arranged marriage and later came to Mumbai. She continued to sing. H was the adopted son of a rich family. He is exactly opposite to my nature. She started teaching in 1984 in various colleges like SNDT Thadomal and SVP Engg College. H was very bitter. In 1987 the real son of that family sent a legal notice stating that he is not a share holder and is not a family member. It was a major setback. But she took it well and never grudged. Later the real son removed her MIL from the house so the pt took her to her home and took her care. She was in Hyderabad in 1993-96 and worked there too. The she came back to Mumbai.
No one can dictate to me as I don’t dictate to anyone. In 1989 there was an emergency and she could not return to Kashmir. Her house was looted. Only stall was left and it was sold for pittance. Had to stay with her son and DIL. Lots of adjustments were made. I lost my independence. She had to stop singing due to Asthma. She was depressed but now better.
