Dr T F Allen, H C Allen and J C Allen have contributed immensely to the field of Homoeopathy. A short biography of Dr H. C. Allen the author of "Keynotes of Materia Medica is presented by Dr C P Goel. Cytogenetic investigations on the effects of Homoeopathic medicine Arsenic alb on some plant material is studied by Prof Chatterjee and Prof Jana.
The treatment of Gall bladder stone is chiefly surgical. The available Homoeopathic Literature is full of drugs which could treat such cases with success. There are various claims too by the Homoeopathic Physicians world over of having cured Gall Stones but these have lacked scientific proof. Dr Girish Gupta supports his claim with the help of ultrasound studies in various patients-with plates before and after treatment. Lycopodium, Calc-carb, Cholesterinum and Fel-tauri were remedies used in most cases. Tinctures of Chelidonium and Carduus were also used as adjuvants.
Dr Dutta explains Homoeopathy in the light of modern science. Though Homoeopaths have cures, we are unable to explain the mode of cure. The higher potency acts better is strongly ridiculed by non-homoeopaths. Dr Dutta elaborates his theory as follows "In the process of homoeopathic attenuation the very first thing that may occur is the creation of electro-magnetic field due to friction between the ethanol molecules and the glass surface. In a strong electric field thus produced, due to absorption of electro-magnetic waves, electron positron pairs (e-et) or positrons units may be created, which in the vicinity of the drug molecules and influenced specifically by their molecular field may clump together to give birth to very light isotopes of the original drug molecules, and retain their therapeutic values even in their absence in the process of serial dilution. At a certain stage these light isotopic molecules functioning like auto-catalytic agents may continue to give birth to its next generations in proportionately increasing concentration, thereby making the homoeopathic attenuation more and more powerful with higher degree of dynamization. N Balkrishnan reports a marvellous cure of hairy cell Leukemia in a forty year old man who had undergone splenectomy-by an Indian medicine, Hygrophilia-spinosa. The other symptoms were severe headache from the last 30 years, red nodular urticarial eruptions and insomnia since 15 years and constipation since childhood. Hygrophilia-spinosa, has a specific symptom-urticarial Malaria when urticarial aggravates with rise of temperature. Asian Homoeopathic Journal is fast growing into a journal with scientific explanations for those in doubt of the efficacy of the system.
