The article "countering common misconceptions about Homoeopathy" answers questions regarding homoeopathy being a scientific system, about homoeopathy surreptitiously using steroids to effect quick cures, about homoeopaths using radioactive elements, posionous substances. Drosera - by Dorothy Shepherd reiterates the writers indepth knowledge and study of this plant.

1. The editorial stresses that each system of medicine has its own specialty and uniqueness. For serious diseases like AIDS, combined use of more than one system of medicine will be useful. It refers to the encouraging results obtained by allopathy-homeopathy combination of treatment of AIDS in a TB sanatorium in Chennai. It deprecates the oft-repeated criticism of allopaths saying that homoeopathic medicines contain steroid.

3. There is an extract from the book "Clinical Reflections" of Dr S P Koppikar. In that he draws specific attention to the risk of anaphylaxis from the dose of the same medicine given on the 10^th or 11^th day; he gives three of his own cases where the second dose repeated on the patient after 10-11^th days resulted in the death of the patient, due to anaphylactic shock. Dr Koppikar says that because of that experience he had stopped giving single dose for any case; instead he used to give on the first day two or three doses at intervals of three or four hours or what is called collective dose.. By such procedure he had not seen any upset by any repetition later on. (NJH would like to have the experience of readers on this subject.)
   
   
4. Dr Arunachalam discusses a case of a lady, aged 53 years. If she is in a room and door is closed from outside or if she is in a car or in a confined space she would play havoc and try to jump out even from the car or bus and hit her husband. History revealed that as a girl she was locked in her class room by mistake and was rescued after considerable time, which made her very afraid and left a deep impact. From her 13^th year onwards this tendency was exhibited and whenever she was traveling by train or bus she had to be pinned to her seat by her husband or relatives to prevent from violence. Aconite and Arg-nit did not have any effect He consulted Boericke and found under Succinum "Fear of trains and closed places". He prescribed that medicine in mother tincture bds and in a short period of time she could travel in train or bus without fear. This is a small remedy. (Please see rubric-claustrophobia in Robin Murphy (p10440 where Acon and Arg-nit and Stramonium are listed in capitals but this remedy is in ordinary letters. This case is a clinical confirmation of the symptom in the material-medica).
