HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 2 Jan 2003
The first article is on Renal calculus by Dr Sailendra Kumar GN: gives a detailed article of causes, symptoms, investigations and commonly used remedies for calculi, viz; Apis-mel, Apocynum, Arnica, Ars-alb, Asparagus, Belladonna, Berberis-vul, Brachyglottis, CoccusCacti, Hydrangia, Lycopodium, Millefolium, Nat-phos, Nux-vom, Ocicumcan, Opium, Pareirebrava, Sarsaparilla, Tabacum, Terebinth, Uva-ursi. J Ellis Barker's article on sleeplessness, mentions Coffea 30 over activity of brain - pt feels far more wide awake at night than in the day time. Aconite 3X for sleeplessness due to heat in the body, restlessness and impatience. Belladonna, Glonoine or Arsenic where appropriate are also useful. Nervous depressed patients with trmbling benefit by Gelsemium 3X.
Mezereum by Dorothy Shepherd. Flatulency by Dr JH Renner follows. He mentions Aconite, Bell & Nux-vom for acute gas episodes and Lyco, Carbo-veg, Kali-carb, Colch, Arg-nit, Platina, Nat-phos, Kali-phos as frequently used remedies. The highlight is an interview with Jeremy Sherr. At the end is an article on migraine: Arg-nit, Bell, Cimic-race, Coffea, Gels, Glon, Iris-ver, Nux-vom, Sang, Sep and Spigelia. |
THE HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 28 May'2003
This Issue contains the Vth part of interview of Jesemy
Scherr, where he talks about provings of noble gases Argen and Krypton. A noble
gas is complete in its outer shell. It doesn’t need anybody to interact and is
totally happy on its own. Nobles are complete in themselves. Krypton proving was
mind blowing and powerful. If a person is straight, physically, morally,
emotionally, truthful in all ways, that is when they’ve been enlightened.
Krypton proving brought out these qualities. Provers felt very very centered,
very in their truth and nearly enlightened !
Dr Sarabhai’s article gives his long experience with
diabetic patients. He opines that modern science is limited to controlling blood
sugar, and nothing more. It is doubtful whether vascular changes have decreased
with the use of insulin. Some antidiabetic drugs are suspected to enhance
cardiac troubles. It is interesting to note that insulin, which in small
quantities is able to prevent hyperglycemic coma, in larger doses produces
hypoglycemic coma. He has given number of cases to support his views-where
stopping insulin, heated the suppuration faster. Hepar-sul, Silicea,
Phosphorous, Calc-sulph, Secale, Lachesis and Merc are the often indicated
medicines.
Dr Amiya Datta gives an interesting case of a 7 years old boy
with behavioural problem and torture from father. Selection of Gallic-acid
based on the rubrics: Rudness, Jealousy and cursing- proved to be a miracle. |

Vol 28 July'2003
In ‘Homoeopath and tumour cases’ Dr Royal Hayes
writes about several cases of lump in breast and uterine fibroids. Kali-mur
12 or 200 TID for few weeks was found to be useful in number of cases. Also Sepia,
Carcinosin, Phosphorus were required on constitutional basis. |
HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 28 Oct'2003
The theme of this issue is Heart and Homoeopathy.
Dr A P Chandran gives a case of a 73 yr old heart patient
who had 2 attacks 5 years apart and was diagnosed as leaking valves with blocked
arteries with 39.05% blood flow deficiency. Prescription of Nux-vom 1M
was based on mental rubrics of Anxiety-future about, Del insulted, Egotism,
Excitement, Anger, A/F disappointment, Fear death of, Food desire seasoned and
warm agg. Infrequent doses at 3 months intervals, brought the old symptom of
pain to the surface but the blockage was completely cleared with improved
arterial compliance. Author opines that Homoeopathy acts even for pain, heat
treatment brings faster results but difficulty lies in convincing the patient.
Dr Carl Williams in a reprint article of Journal of
American Institute of Homoeopathy gives 4 different groups of medicines for the
failing heart.
The first group includes Prunus, Eel-serum, Apocynum
etc where the case is of cardio-renal type. The 2nd group
includes Apis, Kali-carb, Ant-tart and Ant-ars. They are indicated
in special cases. The 3rd group Naja, Ammon-carb,
Veratrum and Ethyl-sul are to be indicated in serious cases like
collapse and the 4th group has Cactus, Cratagus,
Spigelia, Kalmia and Lilium to be given for subjective symptoms.
Dr Derard Baker shares his experiences with Osteoarthritic Nosode 30c.
Though he had not heard of or believed that OAN provings were available,
he used the samples sent by Dr Foubister and found it useful in number of cases.
OAN is prepared from the synovial fluid of an osteoarthritic knee. Dr
Foubister explains that in case of OAN of the hip, high osteotomy of the
femur may be followed by regeneration of articular cartilage and in some
instances even by development of radiologically normal head of femur and
restored joint function. Thus OAN could have constitutional basis and OAN
may be beneficial where constitutional treat |
THE HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 28 Nov 2003
Dr Farokh Master in his editorial clears the mist surrounding potency. There are
many views, but Dr Hahnemann has given three guidelines viz. nature of the
disease - acute or chronic; nature of the patient and nature of the remedy.
According to Dr Kent, the selection of the best potencies is a matter of
experience and observation and not the matter of the law. Whatever potency a
physician uses, one potency is not sufficient for a chronic disease. It may do
for acute disease. High potency may work well in non-sensitive patients with a
strong vital force. A potency which may not affect a hypo-sensitive Baryta-carb,
will cause tremendous aggravation in a hypersensitive pt. Normo sensitive
patients have a stable Vital force, conditions are purely mental or emotional.
Here 200 C or LM potency is chosen. In LM it will be four ounce of bottle, four
to six succussions, taken in one tsp. In constitutional like Phos or Ars
or in advanced pathology with weak vital force, drug reaction/abuse LM potency.
In eight ounce bottle with two succussions and ½ tbsp dose is chosen. Or Calcarea
1 M or 10 M is chosen three pellets dry or one pellet in water.
Also discussed in the article are olfaction and skin method of administration.
Dr T K Basu gives a clinical study of Physostigma-variorum
tried on 75 patients of Myopia. Different age groups were selected and the
medicine was given in different potencies for six months. Patients were reviewed
every 45 days. Improvement of vision was found in 45 cases in 6-20 age group.
Further research is in progress.
Also published is Dr Hahnemann’s article on attenuated medicine. This was
written in 1,825 as a reply to a skeptic who tried to show nothingness of Hom.
The skeptic’s argument, was if a drop of such highly attenuated medicine can
still act, then a drop of strong medicine in the lake of Geneva should display
such power too. To this Dr Hahnemann wrote at length that it is the process of
succussion and trituration that gives the spiritual dimension to the medicine
making them so powerful and to doubt its efficacy itself is foolish. Even if one
doubts he says, what actually takes place’ must at least be possible. He then
gives an example of sparks flying off from steel when rubbed against a hard
stone like agate or flint. People light their tinder in that spark ,but no one
perceives what a great natural phenomenon has taken place. When these sparks are
caught on a sheet of paper, small palettes of steel can be seen with naked eye
or by a lens. These pellets are detached from the surface of the steel due to
smart collision with the flint and fallen like small fire balls from sparks when
they are cooled. It is the friction that causes such a great heat - energy to
fuse steel into fire balls: Normally 3000Fú of heat is required to melt steel.
He then questions: where does this tremendous heat comes from?
Not of thin air, for this phenomenon takes place in vacuum! Therefore it must
come from the substances that are rubbed together. Similarly all the inert
medicinal properties of a substance are brought alive when succussion takes
place. He thus warns: he who pretends to be a seeker after truth will not search
for where it is to be found, namely in experience, he will certainly fail to
discover it.
Other articles include: D Victor’s The minimum principle’s
universality’, Extensive book reviews of Dr Boger’s studies in
philosophy of healing and Boenninghausen’s repertory.
