HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 24 No 1 Spring 99
Edited by Dr Farokh Master, all the articles have been penned by Mumbai practitioners. Dr Farokh Master discusses 5 cases of Malaria with repertorial analysis. He presents a differential diagnosis between Ars-alb, China and China-sulph.
Cases
Dr Ajay A Jain: 30 yr old male consulted for acidity, headaches, acrid perspiration etc. When 8 yrs old, he used to hear profane language from a schizophrenic relative. Whenever he prayed he heard blasphemous language. This caused a lot of guilt. Rubric: Del; voices, hearing abusive and filthy language, voices within him are speaking in; Zincum-met covered all the other symptoms too. Ameliorated to a great extent.
Dr Ameet Panchal: Case of chronic constipation and headache arising from mental labour. Case taking revealed silent suffering when beaten by his father on false allegations of a cousin; his unhappiness in working honestly when other colleagues were accepting bribes. He bottled his emotions and anger. Nat-carb cured: the clincher was the rubric-striking himself, anger from.
Dr Priya Panchal: case of a 42-yr old lady, for constipation -hard stools with bleeding and hemorrhoids. She alleged that her in-laws had tried black magic on her family who were suffering. Her husband was amoral. Her remedy Naja selected on rubric - antagonism with herself,
Delusion- superhuman control under; Delusion- injured by surroundings, confidence wants of; timidity, brooding, sadness with; despair; fear disease at incurable being.
Dr Jawahar Shah brings alive the Palladium personality.
Dr Payal Shah writes about understanding Natrum-mur personality through the cravings and aversions. Other remedies covered: Cocculus through rubrics; unspoken symptoms of Lachesis, Mag-mur.
Discussing Chelidonium-majus, Dr Adajania says that it represents a situation of an unemployed person, discontented with his present living. Slow with blunted senses, he is unable to carry on his regular business. He develops an addiction for alcohol and his dominant nature makes him quarrelsome and angry, often beating his children without cause, later guilty about what he did. Smitten by his conscience he may desire death. Finally the end may come in the form of comatose state where there is no more agony and guilt. (Was this compensation?)

HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 25 No2 2000
This issue is devoted to fine tuning analytical skills in all areas of practice and also to analyze critically those cases where the Homoeopath had gone wrong in prescribing and how it was rectified.
Case illustrations:
- Dr Yogesh Vasandi- a case of wt loss, low backache and sudden diarrhoea. Initial prescription of Silicea did not work. A review led to Strontium-carb; was cured.
- Dr Sunil Anand discusses an interesting case of Agaricus, prescribed for a 4-year-old girl, for frequent attacks of fever with swelling of neck and tilting of the head. The remedy was chosen on her mental symptoms - courageous but inability to understand danger, an absorbed mind, confusion of mind and aversion to answer and perform any mental labour.
- A 12 year old girl suffered from asthmatic bronchitis from 7 years of age; allergic to dust, cold air etc; going to school was difficult and consequently failed twice in 4th standard; totally absentminded and unobserving; had a yellow discharge; lean, emaciated, dull and tired looking. Family history of cancer with her mother having breast cancer and had undergone surgery after the birth of this child, suggested Hydrastis-canadensis 200 - three doses resulted in wt gain and overall improvement in her personality and in studies.
- Dr Meena Mankani discusses a case of non-healing ulcer in a diabetic patient. He had an irresistible inclination to lie down in bed whenever he was free. He was abusive and dictatorial. Taking note of the rubric in Phatak's Repertory: Gangrene - diabetic that includes Conium, it was prescribed in 1M potency at infrequent intervals. Within two months, the ulcer healed completely.

HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
July-August 2002
A monthly journal published by B Jain Publishers (p) Ltd,1921 Chuna Mandi,10th
Street, Paharganj New Delhi 55.
1. In the April issue the editor, Dr Farokh J Master discusses that one can
learn more about homoeopathic remedies through the Doctrine of Signatures.
"You bring the same anatomy of the herb and the same anatomy of the illness
into one order. Under this method. Dr Master argues that the doctrine could be
verified against the proving symptoms of homoeopathic remedies of plant
substances. Dr Gibson also wrote "the parallels and correspondences of the
Doctrine of Signatures are sufficiently numerous and striking to deserve serious
study as well as being an aid to understanding and memorizing the material
medica of each remedy." Dr Farokh Master support by several examples.
2. Dr Francis Treuherz discusses a case of 84-year-old Jewish woman who survived
the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp. Her main complaint was a deep-seated
vertigo, which started 50 years ago when in the concentration camp. Her feelings
became so hard that she said that she was not able to show affection. She was
prescribed Conium, which covers her main complaint and also hardening of
her mind.
3. There is an exhaustive lecture on the treatment of headaches with indications
for specific homoeopathic remedies. A case of severe headache in a farmer’s
daughter cured by Cyclamen is presented by Dr Guy Kokelenberg. She also
suffered from asthma. Some peculiar symptoms in her case which led to this
remedy:- Irresistible desire to urinate when somebody is whistling; never
thirsty during the day; menses scanty but bleeds more when lying or sitting;
difficult respiration from dust; diarrhoea after breakfast; undemonstrative
grief arising from the early loss of mother and whereafter she had to look after
the other siblings. (See the article on Cyclamen under Learn a Remedy
through Cases published in the last issue of this journal.)
4. August issue editor discusses salient features of Kali-bich and
Kali-carb as seen in his practice.
5. Dr Subash Chander discusses Dynamised Auto Therapy which involves
potentisation of substances from the patient’s blood, CSF and saliva for
curing the diseases of the concerned patient. The author argues that by this
method, he has successfully cured cases of viral diseases like hepatitis,
measles, Chicken-pox, Herpes.( Even earlier this potentisation of the patient’s
blood for treating chronic illnesses has been tried with success.) |
HOMOEOPATHIC HERITAGE
Vol 27 Dec'2002
This journals starts with an article by De E Garcia-Trevino on Bronchial Asthma. He has given a few cases.
Case I - Young girl with asthma since age 5y. Given Cup-met and Ant-tart in a cute phase. Cured completely with a single dose of Antim-crud.
Case II- 20 year old boy received Calc-carb.
Case III- young girl aged 22 years, aggravated with Ars-iod 200 as she had received Arsiquinine for malaria; was given Hepar-sulph 200 as antidote to Arsenic and respond well.
The second article is by Dorothy Shephard on Thuja. An article on the Psychology of Eating by Eugene Underhill follows an article by Dr Elizabeth Wrigth Hubbard on unusual uses for Nosodes, Which is interesting. She gives a case of Miss X: severe constipation, constriction at rectum, with pushing down pain, prolapse of rectum, clusters of hard tender piles with fissures and burning, habitually took enema twice a week and dreaded the ordeal to the point of hysteria. Syphilinum 1M, single dose, gave relief. Another lady with severe wheezing, muttering "if only I could get to the seashore..." Medorrhinum 10M relieved within 5 minutes. An 11 year old boy with 103degreeF, warmly wrapped, smelly otorrhoea, Psorinum 10M single dose. Fever dropped in 2hrs, child completely well. The issue ends with an article by Jeremy Sherr --- "There are homoeopaths, and then there are those who use potencial remedies. There are homoeopaths and then there are those who prescribe hundreds of remedies
Per patients on passing whims.... There are homoeopaths and then there are those who use only a small and convenient portion of the principles which define our science..... the title of homoeopath needs no adjective and belongs to those who practice the totality of its principles".
He concludes: "The path of Homoeopathy is long and complicated yet its essence is simplicity. For the Homoeopath, it provides nourishment of soul, challenge of mind, harmony of body. We are truly blessed.
