Autumn 1998
This issue is devoted to women Homoeopaths. Starting with the personal reminiscences of Dr Margery Blackie, the famous British Homoeopath, it contains interviews with Dr Naula Eising of Ireland, Dr Ananda Zaren, Dr Svetlana Riabykh, and Dr Gabriela Rieberer. These Homoeopaths share their views and experiences as women Homoeopaths. The salient points they made are as under:
- Dr Naula Eising has proved Granite and she says that she proved Fire because it could happen anywhere else like Chernobyl.
- Dr Ananda Zaren says that she can, after years of practice, see how Homoeopathy can go to the core upto DNA and unravel what is stored therein. She says that healing process has both expansion and contraction. It is a journey in which the doctor and the patient walk together in mutual trust. She sits back a little during consultations and allows the vibrations of the vital force of the patient to come and touch her, without worrying a bit about finding the similimum that second. When the patient realises your caring and love for her, they open up. She also keeps an eye on the body language of the patient, to understand the emotional state of the patient.
- Dr Ananda Zaren has a different approach to a case; she talks in terms of wound, walls and mask. Every child comes to the world mostly with positive energies. Then a series of unpleasant events that take place, create the wounds. The wound needs a layer of defense and that is the wall (s). That is the character structure and that is the core. But the patients put on a mask to hide their wound. When you ask the person to describe himself that is the picture of the mask he wears which is presented. One should not prescribe on that. For instance, Frank Sinatra was physically abused by his father and that was his wound. The walls over the wound were his vulnerability but he put on the mask of being a tough guy. In many cases finding the wound part is easy as patients readily volunteer information about their traumas.
- Linda Johnston discusses in very great detail, a chronic case of recurring vaginal warts, PMS and irritable moods and a feeling of barrier between her and the world and low energy. Initially the patient was given Thuja on the basis of presenting symptoms. There was no improvement on her warts though her energy level was better. On review of the case it was noticed that the prescription did not cover the sense of persecution, violence in her behaviour and cold heartedness. Lyssin was therefore prescribed and that too did not ameliorate. Then on a full review of the case and the dream of a large black spider Tarentula-hisp was given with temporary alleviation and gradual return of the earlier symptoms. Ultimately Dr Johnston prescribed Androctonus (scorpion) 200. And another dose after one year of follow-up and all her symptoms have resolved by then.
- Writing on scorpion, Dr Johnston points out that it is the only spider, which attacks first without provocation. It is a defensive action as the main feeling is one of persecution. (evident in the above case). They have a hard shell showing their lack of sympathy, hard-hearted cruelty and maliciousness. They feel disconnected from the rest of the world, totally alone, anti-social and separate. They have no control over their emotions and once they lose their control they strike out with violence and with malice. Argumentative and with strong likes and dislikes. No remorse and they do not forgive and grudges play a strong part in their thinking. They think that the world is against them. Great energy for music, dancing and sex and with animal jealousy.
