ADVENT OF HOMOEOPATHY
January-March 2001
This issue deals with diseases of spring season treated with Homoeopathy. During this period of transition from winter to summer the main diseases are influenza, chicken pox, measles, mumps, herpes, whooping cough and allergic rhinitis asthma etc The articles therefore deal with homoeopathic treatment of these diseases. An interesting extract from Jonathan Shore's article on "How I treat seasonal allergies" published in the BHJ, April 1994 gives indications for Rananculus-bul,Silices, Agaricus, Puls Ambrosia, Carbo-veg etc.
There is a list of related reportorial rubrics extracted from Complete Repertory, which is a useful compilation. Many persons are allergic to Congress grass and the worst sufferers are asthmatics. Dr Sudersan Bhatti discusses in his article a case of allergic reaction to Congress grass treated tautopathically with decoction of the plant's pollen. This issue also contains an extract from the website www.livelinks.com sent by S S Vithal in which the myths and facts of vaccination are discussed; the facts disclose evidence to say that these vaccinations are unreliable and that many of the assumptions upon which the immunization programmes are based were proved false in their applications.
Dr A S Chatterjee discusses some clinical cases from his practice covering hyperglycaemia, multiple warts in scalp, styes, itching of sole of an infant and spondylitis. A reprint of an article by Dr Grace Stevens from the Homoeopathic Recorder on sinus troubles makes interesting reading. The author discusses 5 cases where he had cured such sinus complaints with appropriate homoeo remedies.

ADVENT OF HOMOEOPATHY
Vol 20 Jan-March'2003
Theme of issue: Tuberculosis:
Dr Agarwal in his editorial writes that TB, also called
white plague is much more than a disease. It is a multilayered mystery that
constantly confounds us. Combined with HIV-AIDS and multi drug resistance, it is
a global time bomb and new ideas are needed to tackle this disease.
Dr Rajeev Saxena has suggested auto-bio energy nosodes
which can be prepared from thirty different secretions of the patient. They act
as supportive cell mediated immunity and could be given in cases of
phylectenular conjunctivitis, necrotic bones, advanced pulmonary TB and
intestinal TB.
Nine cases of TB are reported. The approach is constitutional
medicine or based on generalities and in some Tuberculinum is used with
success.
Dr Ravinder Kochar treated a case of spinal TB with Tuberculinum
4 doses in 6 mths. The patient was Rxed with AKT 10 years back. His backache was
persistent with ESR 138 mm. With the first dose of Tuberculinum it came
to 40mm and in 6 mths it was normal with overall improvement. |
ADVENT OF HOMOEOPATHY
Oct-Dec 2003
The theme of this issue is constitution. Dr L M Khan explains constitution covers both the psyche and the soma of the person. Temperament of a person is cast at the very beginning of life. Thus constitution and temperament have a very close meaning. Personality of a person projects his/ her traits. They may be a mask, since personality prescribing will always lead to failure. Diathesis is inborn state of disease tendency and disposition is one's usual mood or temperament.
Dr Kasim Chimthanwala gives an insight on constitution according to Girauvgi's classification of carbognitrogenoid Hydrogenoid and Oxygenoid types. Knerr's classificationof 17 different types like Asthenia, Bilious; concern Catarrhal along with psoric, sycotic, syphilitic and Tubercle are explained. Understanding of constitution can help us in perceiving, selecting a correct similimum, to advise proper diet and prognosis.
Other articles include interview of Dr Shekh Azar of Pakistan, cases of aplastic anemia, diabetes and hypertension treated on constitutional basis.
Dr O P Setia discusses Parkinson’s disease, medicines like Agaricus, RT, Gelsemium, Arg-nit, Cocculus, Merc, Zinc and Plumbum. In useful tips, he says, Diet rich in Vit E, of Vit E tab, lots of fluid or helpful. Tobacco less harmful method like pipe of agar and caffeine prevent or delay the occurrence of Parkinson.
