The 12th National Homoeopathic
Conference, organized by Research Society of Homoeopathy on 14th
and 15th Feb was held at Dehradun, the capital city of
Uttaranchal, at Hotel Azanta Continental. It ended on a promising note of making
Homoeopathy a positive first line alternative treatment for the masses.
The Health Minister agreed to increase the number of Government Homoeopathic
dispensaries.
Awards :
Dr Kumar Dhawale of Mumbai, Institute of Clinical Research, was awarded the
Dr Hahnemann Memorial National Award 2004 by Sri Behar for professional
Research, Education and advancement of Homoeopathy in India.
Dr B K Bose Memorial Best National Homoeopathy Teacher Award 2004 was conferred
upon Dr L K Nanda of Bhubneshwar for his outstanding contribution to
Homoeopathic teaching in India.
Messages :
Dr Ramji Singh Vice President Central Council of Homoeopathy, as a special
guest, informed about MD teaching various colleges. The council is committed to
maintaining the norms of various colleges as directed by CCH
Dr Anurudh Verma Secretary RSH and member CCH, expressed the need of separate
directorate and Homoeopathic medicine board in Uttranchal and the need to open
Government Homoeopathic Medical College.
Dr D P Rastogi Former Director CCRH, stressed upon the need of Research work in
the field of Homoeopathy.
The First Scientific Session : On usefulness of repertory was dedicated to Dr Anil Bhatia. The chairman of this session, Dr S K Tiwari, Principal, Father Muller’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Mangalore, said that repertory is an instrument to correct similimum. He gave detailed information about different repertories.
Dr D P Rastogi Ex-Director CCRH said that all repertories have merit and
demerits and it is upto the physician to decide which repertory to use.
Dr Jawahar Shah Mumbai spoke on use of repertory giving example of Gratiola.
Dr Randeep Nanda Chandigarh and Dayashanker Singh also presented their papers.
Second Scientific Session: On role of Homoeopathy in bone and joints
disorders was dedicated to Dr K G Saxena.
Dr L K Nanda, Bhubneshwar presented a paper on efficacy of Homoeopathy in
RA. He said that the choice of similimum depends more on the constitution.
Dr Anand Kapse of Mumbai presented a paper of Homoeopathic approach to
osteoarthritis. He discussed the role of deep acting constitutional medicine in
treatment of OA. Majority of cases fall in sycotic miasm hence the importance of
the role of Thuja as an intercurrent remedy.
Dr S Praveen Kumar of Hyderabad spoke on prolapse of Lumber Disc - its Homoeopathic Management. He said this is very common nowadays due to changes in life style and more so due to minor or major trauma. This was based on the statistics provided by the clinical experience in 20 years practice. Out of 178 total number of cases of PIVD, 132 cases were of lumber disc prolapse. And in these 132 cases 18 different Homoeopathic drugs were used. Arnica and Rhus-tox were very important and Guiac and Gnaphlium in Q were used very frequently.
Dr S Haque of Muzzafarpur presented a paper on bone diseases, Osteoma.
Dr Jaydev Sharma (Haryana) presented a paper on backache, based on patient’s
mental and physical characteristics ie if the patient is fastidious, the
medicine is Ars-alb.
Third Session: Interesting case report with full justification of
prescribing.
Dr K P Dhama Delhi presented a case of Fright disorders treated by Stramonium.
The symptom was urinary incontinence.
Dr K Shivprasad presented two successfully treated cases of HIV. In one used
a miasmatic drug and other on basis of totality. He used Medorrhinum,
Syphilinum and Ars-alb, Phos, Puls and Nat-mur.
Dr Sarad Sangloo Allahabad presented three cases of Uterine Fibroid and Ovarian
Cyst.
Dr S A Dhole of Amravati also presented a paper on research, protocol and
strategies in Homoeopathy.
A video case of IVS was presented by Dr B D Patel of Bangalore.
Dr Kumar Dhawale Mumbai was the Chairman and Dr (Ms) K H Mathani was the
moderator. The panelist were Dr D P Rastogi, Dr B D Patel, Dr S K Tiwari, Dr L
Nanda, Dr K P S Dhama and Dr Kapil Sharma. The conclusion of the session was
that the prescribing depends on the physicians individuals thinking based on the
guidelines of Dr Hahnemann.
The Fourth Session: Dedicated to Smt Bala Devi Rastogi, was a general
session.
Dr Hetendra Shukla, Gujarat presented a paper on conjunctivitis. The
conjunctivitis was treated and controlled by Bell 200, Euphrasia-30 and Rhus-tox-
30. In this session Dr S A Dhole Amravati also presented a paper on
Homoeopathic education- 20th century, a retreat value for
using the quality education.
The Fifth Session was open session.
Dr M P Singh from Bhubneshwar presented a paper on Diabetes. He said that
the constitutional approach is always better but organopathic drugs also have
their role.
Dr Suman Kumar Panda from Bhubneshwar presented a paper on Bronchial Asthma.
She gave a list of constitutional and indigenous drugs.
Dr Amiya Goshwami from Udaipur presented a paper study of Homoeopathic mind
in pediatrics.
