Press Note: The HMAI Undivided Koraput District Unit, Jeypore organized 250th birthday of Mahatma Hahnemann, founder of Homoeopathy on 10th April 2004.
Dr E Panigrahi presided over the function. Sri D N Panigrahi, Banpur, Khurda District, Puri, was the principal speaker. He said Gautam Buddha had sacrificed his life under the Bodhi Erikhsha through meditation and thus invented Ahimsa Mantra (non-violence) to rescue people from violence. Mahatma Hahnemann devoted his whole life on medical research and finally established Homoeopathy, the divine gift of God. Shri Prabhudan Bothra, Journalist recited a poem on "Hahnemann".
A Scientific Session: Brain Haemorrhage 
coma was presented by Dr S C Mishra of Behrampur. The main drug was Medorrhinum. The question and answer forum was educative and attractive.
World Health Organization Day Celebrated
The association observed WHO day on 10.04.2004 in the second session though WHO day falls on 7th April. Dr Ekalabya Panigrahi, Addtional District Medical Officer (Retd) was the principal speaker.
Dr Brosk Chisholem was elected as its first Director General. The South East Asia office is located in New Delhi. Its main achievement was eradication of smallpox from the world and now next comes eradication of Polio plus etc.
The association is distributing triple antigen Pulsatilla 1 M (Chicken Pox, Mumps and Measles) throughout the District.
Homoeopathic Course for Allopaths
Dr K S Das, Org. Secretary stated that many allopathic Doctors from different categories ie M D, MS, Specialist have applied to the Central Council of Homoeopathy, Govt of India to impart them short term course in Homoeopathy. But the matter is still under consideration with the council. Many members from different parts in the district have attended this unique function.
The meeting also observed 2 minutes parlance in respect of departed soul of Padmthibusan guru Kelu Chanan Mahaptia who expired on 07.04.2004 at BBSR.
