International Homoeopathic Conference (Agra)

The Research Society of Homoeopathy and the Pareek Research centre jointly organized the International Homoeopathic conference 8-9 Feb 2003 at Agra in Hotel Jaypee Palace. 800 representatives of different countries participated. Conference started with the Saraswati vandana & lighting of lamps, a garland ceremony to Dr Hahnemann, by the hand of Hon’ble Minister of Health Raja Mahandra Aridman Singh. He said "even till today we have to increase the confidence among the general people in relation to Homoeopathy, When we will do this, we will make Homoeopathy easily acceptable to the masses". "We are trying our level best to increase for Homoeopathy. This stream has its own importance, medicines are relatively cheaper and the future is bright. Whatever the mode of treatment we have to promote it". In Homoeopathy lot of research is needed, treatment should be evidence based. Only by this we can increase the confidence among the general people".

The Hon’ble Chief guest, the vice chancellor of Dr B R Ambedkar University Agra, released the souvenir and said that "Homoeopathy will not take its progress due to Government’s sustenance rather it will progress only by the self-reliance". He said "Homoeopathy has only one bit of equipment but it has made available to general people easily by itself.

Dr R P Dubey (Director of Homoeopathy, UP) said that Government should provide 30% budget apart from general budget independently on the behalf of health and medical expenses. He advocates reservation for homoeopathy to come together with other modes of treatment.

Dr C P Singh (President, Research society of Homoeopathy) said "Homoeopathy has proven evidence in almost every disease very successfully. He demands "government should decide to celebrate 10th April as a Hahnemann’s Birthday, the day for Homoeopathy. President of organizing committee Dr R S Pareek said that "Dr Mahendra Lal Sarkar started practicing Homoeopathy in Agra; that was the beginning of Homoeopathy in Agra, but today Homoeopathy is rather a necessity for every family.

Dr Anurudh Verma (Society secretary & member of CCH) said, "Until it is in National health programs & National health policy, Homoeopathy will not contribute till then Government’s determination health for all cannot get success". He shows his alas for WHO’s view about Homoeopathy that Homoeopathy has been kept with alternative system of medicines. He said, "Homoeopathy is a scientific mode of treatment and a mainstream technique".

It shows a tendency towards Allopathy and dual nature towards Homoeopathy. In this inaugural session the Hon’ble Minister awarded to to the following:
Dr L M Khan (NIH, Calcutta) with the award named Dr B K Bose Physician and Doctor Award.
Dr K P S Dhama (Physician of President of India).
Dr G B Singh, Ex Medical education Minister
Dr Jawahar Shah (Mumbai) as the pioneer of Indian Homoeopathic software
Dr J D Daryani Rajasthan University dean for their special work in Homoeopathy.

President of conference, Dr G B Singh said there is great worry st Homoeopathic college level. He said, "the deficit of lecturer and Doctor should be filled as soon as possible. He demands that Government should remove the ban of opening new colleges.

The first day of conference:

First scientific session: the President, Dr D P Rastogi (Ex. Director CCRH). dedicated this session to the late Dr Anil Bhatia.

Dr J D Karat, Mangalore highlighted the problem of Nocturnal enuresis (Primary and secondary enuresis) of children and their Homoeopathic Treatment Caust, Lyco, Sepia, Mag-mur were found effective.

Dr H N Singh (Lko) classified paediatric asthma on miasmatic basis. He found High power medicines are more effective.

Dr Alok Pareekh (Agra) discussed on Pathetic paediatric

Dr Naresh Arora (Lko) talked on Infantile Thromboyctopenia purpura. He emphasized that Homoeopathy can stop the bleeding and reduce the frequency of blood transfusion.

Dr Amiya Goswami (Udaipur) related a case of cerebral palsy in children, showing recovery but not complete cure

Dr Kapil Sharma (Bijnore) presented on habits of children and their Homoeopathic Treatment and relevant repertorization as well.

Second session was dedicated to Late Dr S R Wadia. The president of this session was Dr R S Pareekh.

Dr Peter Chappell read his paper on HIV (AIDS). But he quoted a remedy named PC-1 as a curative in AIDS, the name of the medicine was surprisingly and unfortunately kept a secret (Homoeopathic remedy). Most of the doctors did not agree and a lot of discussion ensued.

Dr Narendra Sharma (Bhopal) presented his paper on Hepatitis: China, Lyco etc are very effective in this.

third scientific session: the president was Dr S R Haque, Muzzaffapur. This session was dedicated to late Dr Smt. Baldevi Rastogi.

Dr B D Patel Bangalore, presented this paper on Alzheimer’s a disease where due to mental in-coordination, life becomes hell. Homoeopathic treatment is very effective in this. He presented his view on the relevance of the theory of miasma and the vital force in relation to modern science.

Dr R K Sharma of Moradabad recited the Hindi version of Kent’s repertory rubrics.

Dr Pawan Pareekh (Agra) presented on Homoeopathic treatment of surgical diseases.

Dr Rajeev Shukla (Kanpur) presented his paper on Leucoderma and

Dr V Prasad presented his paper on constitutional medicines.

Dr K P S Dhama expresses his view on miasm theory and its relevance in present day medical science and its implication.

The second day 4th Scientific Session on Homoeopathy and cancer Chairperson was Dr R P Dubey and it was dedicated to Dr Kanjilal. Considerable numbers of papers were on role of Homoeopathy in Cancer Dr L M Khan, Dr Subhash Singh, Dr Pramod Kumar, Dr Kammath, Dr Dayashankar Singh, Dr Kamlesh Srivastava and Dr Vishpala Parthasarathy presented a paper on cancer. No conclusive evidences of complete cure of cancer from Homoeopathic treatment could be drawn from the papers presented.

In this session the first speaker was Editor of National Jpournal of Homoeopathy Mumbai, Dr Vishpala Parthasarathy has proven by her research paper that Homoeopathy is effective in the treatment of cancer. She presented a detailed and clear understadnign of Cancer in gereneral and then cited 2 cases with the folowup to show effectiveness of homoepathy in Acute lymbhoblastic leukaemia. A 100-slide vivid audia visual presentation set the ball rolling.

Dr L M Khan said "Homoeopathy is very much effective in the treatment of cancer, but if metastasis has developed then only patients life may prolong. In the very beginning more effectvie treatment may be possible".

Dr R S Pareekh presented his paper on successful Homoeopathic treatment of benign and malignant tumor.

Dr M K Kamat claimed several successful treatments of cancer patients.

Dr Umesh Dayandan (Kuwait) gav the data of breast cancer.

Dr Ramesh Srivastava (Rai Bairely) presented special cases of leukaemia.

Dr Daya Shankar Singh (Muzzaffarpur) read his paper in this session.

Dr Subhash Singh (Calcutta, NIH) explained the role of constitution and miasm with the Homoeopathic philosophy in treatment of cancer.

Dr Pramod Kumar (Ludhiana) read his paper.

Further session: Role of Homoeopathy in National health program.

Dr S P Singh (director of CCRH) said "in national health program our medicines are very effective. It was already proven by numbers of experiences and experiments. The resultant of this is that by the use of Calc-carb, Bell and Tuberculinum, Andhra Pradesh is free from Japanese encephalitis.

Effective medicines for Malaria, AIDS, Filaria and Diabetes are available".

Dr S A Dhole (Prinicpal of JLN Homoeopathic Medical College) has proven by his research, utility of Homoeopathy in National Health Programs.

Dr Haque told about rare medicines Gingkobiloba, Luffa Operculata lecithin and Baldo. Dr S Praveen Kumar (Govt. Homoeopathic Medical College, Hyderabad) said about the utility of rare remedy name – Magnatis-polus in many diseases.

Dr D P Rastogi Ex. Director of CCRH has explained many remedies, in a well visualized slikde presentation.

Later there was a special panel discussion on use of Hahnemannian philosophy in modern era.

Chairperson: Ex Director Dr D P Rastogi and organizer: Dr B D Patel. Specialist- Dr KPS Dhama, Dr R S Pareekh, Dr R Dubey, Dr S Haque. Specialist opinion was that

‘what we call health now a days its hypothesis was given by Hahnemann years before this theory because he said that "treat the patients as a whole don’t treat the patient organ -wise like heart and liver etc. he said that Hahnemannian philosophy was natural and true. It is equally valuable as it was.

Dr R Dubey presented his concept of miasm and genetics. His view that miasms are dynamic and genes are material by nature. The miasm cannot be shown but their existence can be perceived.

Dr Sanjeev Agarwal talked about the Tubercular constitution, according to him Ars-iodatum helps the child in gaining weight, kali-iod is indicated in syphilitic children.

On the whole the scientific session due to presence of these representatives, were very interesting.

Dr Alok Pareekh successfully managed the scientific session. At the end session the chief guest was Dr G C Saxena the vice chancellor of Agra University. He said that this type of discussion is very useful for medical world. He congratulated organiser of conference and gave mementos to participants. In this occasion Member of Parliament Bhagwan Shanker Rawat was the chief guest. In this session Dr Anurudh Verma (Member CCH) said "In India Homoeopathy becomes a future mode of treatment because it cures from the root cause and India will represent all over the world in Homoeopathy".

President of Research Society of Homoeopathy Dr C P Singh gave the vote of thanks to participant and representative. The organizer of this session was Dr K C Saraswat. The representative of this session was Dr D P Rastogi, Dr B D Patel, Dr Peter Chappel (YK). Dr Umesh Daya Nandan (Kuwait), Miss Tatyan Prakaskiya (Russia).

Over all the goal of this conference was acheived. Before the end of conference the secretary of Research society of Homoeopathy announced next year’s 12th National Homoeopathic Conference to be held at Jabalpur. Date and Venue not announced.

Vote of confidence was given by Dr Anand Chaturvedi, Dr Patel, Dr Bhupendra Srivatiav, Dr Sunil Sharma, Dr Nishant (MP) and they had made promises to meet in the next conference and with happiness and thanks, the conference was ended. At the conference place there was and expo of medicines, books, software and related items.
