CASES MATERIA MEDICA GENERAL ARTICLES ABSTRACT MISCELLANEOUS Q & A

Letters to the Editor
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 2003 Jul / Aug VOL V NO 4.

Congratulation for bringing May-June 2003 issue in record time. In present era mixed bag is best taste for readers, because when you bring some issue on a particular subject, except few articles, rest are filling the blank. But in Mixed Bag readers are getting different article on different subject in one issue. When we read Mixed bag it is not monotonous and due to change in subject of article it is interesting to read.
Also for writers, they have not to wait till you publish topics of their article. About 50% of article in your theme issue is copy of some books as 50% authors are same. Actually articles should be based on experience and observation and not copy of text from various books.

I hope in future 50% of NJH issue will be Mixed Bag. It is only my observation and request to learned editor like you for benefit of Homoeopaths.
Thanking you

Editor Replies:
Thanks for prompt comment. Certainly, we will put it to vote in our Board and to the readers in general. But, I would also like to take this opportunity to explain the raison-d’etre for NJH Theme Journals.
1. It helps to cover the topic from all angles.
2. Most of the articles, which you allude to and by which I presume you refer to the general articles, are not from books, as you say, but are research - based: ie from many sources plus experience. And from the generalist point of view-very useful to us in practice.
3. Then, it allows us to learn from the experience of various doctors in the same field.
4. This covers 60% of the Journal. This makes it a useful reference volume, which can be referred when faced with that disease in practice.
5. The remaining part of the Journal are not fillers but other matters pertaining to Homeopathy-like Abstracts of other Journals, comprehensive reports of seminars, which we insist must include cases etc actually spoken in the seminar. Lastly, we do keep one section of Other Cases-to include good papers not pertaining to the topic at hand.

I am Dr Samkit Shah practising homoeopathy at Surat and a regular reader of NJH. I am interested in a medicine named "Eosinophillum". It is described in NJH on "STRESS" under the head of Letter to Editor  by Dr Chaturbhuj Nayak. He has explained the provings of that medicine. I need address of Dr Chaturbhuj Nayak, to know more about the medicine and if available to buy also.

Sub: Giving some valuable information about a newly proved Nosode- Eosinophilinum through a paper cutting (Indian Express - Bhubaneshwar edition-Friday, May 14, 1999). with Ref: To your "Questions and Answers" section
Dr Vaibhav Mahmane from Satara- Question No 7, in your volume -3, No.6 , 60th Issue, Nov-Dec-2001: Tumours: Uterus of Appendages-could be sinister
It is my pleasure to inform you that, I was associated with the Eosinophilia research project through the drug Eosinophilinum at Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Consumers Forum. And we found the drug quite effective.

I am Dr Manohara from Mysore, Karnataka. I have been reading your editorials in NJH since 5 yrs after completing my BHMS.
During student days, I had worked with about 10 homoeopaths and every one used to practice in their own way. If questioned they used to answer according to their own philosophy. At the end after passing out I was confused with so many theories.

But after started reading your editorials and journal, I decided to practice in a classical way (single remedy, minimum repetition).
Though, I struggled much initially, now after 5 yrs I have good practice and though I still fail many times, I am able to identify the mistakes and rectify it. More than anything I enjoy my practice.
I once again thank you for your inspirational editorials and articles in NJH.

Editor:
Thank you. I am glad NJH could be of help to you. That is exactly the purpose for its existence.
Since you have struggled and come up, would you like to have about your cases? How you would have handled earlier and how now, and how you got results.
We have an issue on Veins and Brain coming up. Do you have a case of that order? In which you can express how you have handled it?

Sub: System of Homoeopathy- Adverse remarks on the genuineness in the Press

With refernce to the doubts you have raised about the effectiveness of the Homoeopathy in curing diseases, I am glad that you have remarked that your comments were intended to initiate a healthy debate.

As an Electrical Engineer, having immensely benefited personally by Homoeopathy, I have studied and written 3 books on how Homoeopathy works on energy basis in the Human Organism.
The Books explain scientifically the phenomenon of Dipolar electrical energy and biomagnetism in the body causing various body functions which is so far not known to science and the medical world. It is also scientifically explained how the energy (like food energy) to restore normal mind body functions in the diseased patient.

As a scientist, by going through these books, I am sure you would easily understand the principle behind the efficacy of the homoeopathic system and take action to remove the misgivings in the society because of your statement. This would be highly valued. I would be grateful for your kind response in the interest of the welfare of the people.
