CASES MATERIA MEDICA GENERAL ARTICLES ABSTRACT MISCELLANEOUS Q & A

The Excursionists
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 2003 Jan / Feb VOL V NO 1.
Dr Satish Kanojia

One fine evening the Materia Medica siblings decided to go for a picnic. Each one took the responsibility to get some eatables and water. Lycopodium refrained from any responsibility because of fear and lack of confidence. Bar-carb was irresolute about what to wear or which shoes to select. Gelsemium developed diarrhoea because of excitement. Coffea could not sleep because of excessive joy.

They all assembled at the prescribed time and place to board the train. Platina entered the compartment with a lowly look for her co-passengers. The train departed. Crocus-sativus was excessively happy, made friends with everyone, kissed them and started singing. Hyoscyamus sang lewd songs, to which Tarentula could not resist dancing. Graphites cried with the music, while Ambra coughed. Stannum could not join the singing because of great weakness in her chest. Calc-phos was very happy as she loved to travel. Cocculus felt nauseated and vomited. Veratrum-alb spent lavishly. Nux-moschata was in deep sleep. The boys formed a queue to befriend Pulsatilla with her silky, wide-eyed look, but she chose the window seat, and studiously avoided them. Her mother’s warning about wolves, intensified her fear of the opposite sex. Just as the train was crossing over the bridge, all rushed to hold Arg-nit who got a sudden impulse to jump into the river!

At last they reached their destination. It was a fascinating place with mountains, river, trees and beautiful flowers. Allium-cepa got coryza near the flowers. Seeing the river flowing Hydrophobinum got convulsions. Phosphorus went to a near by shop to buy ice-cream while Phos-acid took a refreshing drink. Kali-bich opened his favourite brand of beer and drank it. Fluoric-acid flirted with the girls. Arsenic sat sipping his bottle of water. Sepia, indifferent to the happenings, was lying down far away. But when the haunting music began, she could not resist dancing. Bufo, the self sufficient one, went away, seeking isolation, to practice "apna hath Jaganath" (masturbation).

Borax felt very sick after the giant wheel ride, and clung to his neighbour on the descent. Nat-mur’s bladder was full, but how could he relieve himself with so many people present.

A little later, the atmosphere changed and it started to rain with thunder. Rhododendron dreaded storm. Elaps who was playing in the grass and drinking sweetened buttermilk had great for fear of rain. Dulcamara’s nose stuffed up. They decided to return home. Coca got palpitation and became dyspnoeic because they climbed a small hillock. Arum-t was hoarse due to continuous singing. Even after the rain, Causticum could not resist a river bath and by the time she returned home, her right side was paralysed. Aconite got high fever that night and the doctor was summarily summoned! Fortunatlely he turned out to be a Homoeopath. All in all a very eventful day with many mishaps. Fortunately Homoeopathy was at hand to set them right!.
