Comparision-Various Mental Facets of Kali
Inter - Personal Relationship "Break"
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 2001 Mar / Apr VOL III NO 2.
Pulsatilla: Will try to prevent a rupture as IPR (Interpersonal Relationship) is like O2 to Pulsatilla, the leech.
Lycopodium: Will employ wit for conciliation and will try to keep his dignity through non-rupture. Rupture, for the Lyco, amounts to defeat. However, Lyco lacks the sweetness of Pulsatilla.
Ars-alb: A continuous, critical and censorious harping leads to severing of relations with those not performing to his standards.
Nat-mur: Although there is an internal need for unconditional love, Nat-m will cut off relations out of hurt feelings; to forget or to forgive is difficult; she will add more salt and make the IPR complex and irreversible.
Sulphur: Quick to quarrel but equally quick to forgive and make up and hence there is no real falling out.
Calcarea: Wants a home; is generous; but if offended, will withdraw in its own shell.
Kali-carb: Attachment- a source of troubles; rigidity, conservatism and weak will lead to "cold war"; Kali-c on her own will not cut off; she is more practical and well-grounded and will keep it hanging.
Sepia: Continuous nagging and detached attitude (self-imposed. In Kali-c it is imposed upon by the others) results in severing the relationships. However, Sep does not have to break the relations with others, as others break with her first.
Staphysagria: Jovial, conciliatory until his sensitive pride is maintained; once offended, pent-up emotions will explode resulting in severing the relationship.
Kali-iod: Its crude, rude and harsh behaviour with family members with its abusiveness will rupture the relationship.
Ageing
Conium - Unbalanced behaviour
Silicea - Selflessness
Kali-car - Dry. Drab
Ferrum-m - Miserable
Nat-mur - Defeated
Lycopodium - Prematurely old
Phos - Afraid of going old
Ars-alb - Dreads old age for fear of accompanying illness
Acid-phos - Emotional numbness, neutrality
Causticum - Disillusioned, paralytic
Passive insanity
Alumina - Self-identity loss
Clash, Confrontation, Argument....
Nat-m: If crossed, Nat-m will fly into a passion of justification; but will not apologize.
Lyco: Nasty; argumentative but overbearing; others must obey; may apologize for the sake of dignity.
Lach: Thought-Passion-Obsession-Compulsion-Action.
Kali-c: Rigid, rationalizer but may heed if convincer on avoid confrontation out of touchiness.
Nux-v: Short-fused; impulsive and excitable and will confront with abusiveness.
Kali-sil: Less confrontational than Kali-carb, Kali-brom and Kali-iod; the latter two are coarse and rough; Kali-sil is so out of loss of ambition and diffidence.
Arg-n: Trapped; ant anxiety; striking at stomach
Ars-alb: Driven & driving; reasonable & unreasonable.
Calc-carb: Timid oyster; inability to perform; insecurity.
Carb-sul: D's-Despair. Dullness. Discouragement. Distraction. Delrium. Discontentment. Dementia; sluggish psyche.
Conium: Anxious hurry; sheepish; hypochondriasis; will-weak
Lyco: Performance; threatened self-esteem
Mag: Deep anxiety; can’t sense the depth of anxiety.
Nat-carb: Oversensitive; conscientious
Phos: Freedom; fearful; over sensitivity
Pulsatilla: Out of clinging; people, sickness; dependence.
Ars will show anxiety very readily. In Kali-ars it comes a little later on owing to Kali element controlling the emotions (esp. the moralistic element). For Ars to control the anxiety will be highly impossible. Kali-ars anxiety state develops gradually and becomes chronic. Ars is more vulnerable, has a low frustration tolerance, is more panicky than Kali-ars. Strong fear of cardiac disease and of cancer are marked in both.
Kali-ars is an Ars minus its temperament (fastidious, austere, miser, greedy) and other Kali features (like rheumatism) and a prominent skin phase.
Selfishness
Phosphorus: Whole world revolves around himself.
Sepia: Asks for more and more; indifferent to others.
Silicea: Shirks responsibility and through (negative) obstinacy.
Pulsatilla: Constantly demands to be petted and protected.
Nat-mur : Insists on doing everything his own way; doesn’t come out of his miserable state.
Ars-alb : Tenaciously refuses to yield an inch despite others needs.
Lachesis: Oblivious to the desires of others; extroverted.
Kali-carb: Fear of poverty makes him greedy; ego-centricity; hoarding instinct.
Sulphur: What is mine is mine, what belongs to you is also mine.
Lycopodium: Opportunistic; miser; lust for power.
Calc-carb: Protects its own security; maintains its autonomic field; "hanging on to his own".
Knowledge
Carcinosin: "I am a man of worth." Perfectionist. Nature lover.
Sul: Academic: Great collector of facts. Tendency to go at the root of the problem and to ramble on intellectually about his pet subjects.
Kali-ph: Warn out. Fagged. < mental exertion Discouraged.
Calc-c: Tends to collect a mine of detailed facts (hoarding instinct). Less passionate.
Puls: Not interested in statistics, facts, ideas or theories.
Lyco: Pedantic about the facts. Systematic and thorough study; definite goal. Academic. Sceptic.
Ars-alb: Wants very minute. Details; factual search. Passionate.
Phos: Seldom a bookish academic. Creative.
Sil: Sincere but stamina less.
Straight-forward
Lyco: To keep its dignity and assertiveness-"hold"
Nux-Vom: Impulsive Short-fused Arrogant Abrasive
Lach: Sharp-tongued Disdainful Passionate
Nat-mur: Out of ego-hurting Emotional storm
Kali-c: Pragmatic Rational in conversation > quarrelsome
Sepia: Out of directness emancipation and detachment
Self-esteem
Kali's: More self-righteousness than self-confidence
Calc: Both self-righteousness and self-confidence less
Platina: Super rather abnormal self-righteousness and self confident
Puls: Self-confidence less but self-righteousness is pushed passively
Lyco: Both self-righteousness and self-confidence
Sulph: More self-confidence but less self-righteousness
Body
Skin: Kali-ars assumes the high rank; most troubles have a skin phase or base. Ranks higher then Caust
Skinny: ‘Lacking in flesh’ constitution is covered by Kali-ars the most (Ars dominance)
Adherent: Kali-bich both at the mental and physical level in comparison with other Kali remedies.
Discharges: More green: Kali-bich
More yellow: Kali-sulph
Action: Depressive on nerves: Kali-phos. Excitable on nerves: Kali-carb
Glandular: Kali-iod
Paralysis: Caust both at the mental and physical level.
Obesity: Kali-carb (sycotic miasmatic dominance added by carbonate’s indolence at metabolic level)
Miasm: Kali-bich and Kali-iod run parallel in syphilis.
Mind
Industrious: Kali-bich ranks high owing to (active) bichromate element and the adherent attribute.
Miser: Kali-carb ranks high due to hoarding and greed in stinct.
Stiff: Caust is the most refined, Kali-iod the opposite pole, Kali-bich is also coarse and unrefined.
Religious: Kali-brom and Caust the most; the former out of guilt, the later-idealism.
Conscientious: The highest degree in Kali-brom with its delusional expression (brom element)
Sensitivity: Kali-carb is the most oversensitive due to carbonate anion (all carbonates are oversensitive)
Diffident: Kali-sil ranks high (K and Sil). Loss of ambition and will power make it diffident; calc-p. Kali-phos.
Apprehensive: Kali-iod and Kali-carb but the former more (anion dominance) and the later less (cation dominance).
Anti-rest: Kali-iod represents the most (preponderance of Iod + over sensitiveness of Kali)
Exhausted: Kali-phos is the premier: both at the mental and physical level; the system worn out, fagged.
Pessimist: Caust has darkest mood and temper; a consequence of long lasting grief, disillusionment, vexation et.
Schizophrenic: Kali-brom is evaluated high in view of its disorganized state, delusions, melancholia, suicidal mania.
Kali-iod. Relations
Antidotes: Am-m, Arg-n, Aur, Ars, Chin, Hep, Merc, Nit-ac, Rhus-t, Sul, Val.
Antidote to : Lead. Mercury. Mez, Sul.
Acute : Ars, All-c, Bel., Carb-v, Chel, Colch. Cur. (a wet-weather Bell),
Lach, Merc(-c), Phos, Sumb.
Complementary : (Agar), Ars-I, Bac-7, (Bar-m), Calc, Caust, 4Hep, Hyar, Kali-c, Lach, Lap-a, Lyc, Med, Mere (-c), Nit-ac, Phos, Phyt, Plb, (Sep), Sul, Syph, (Tub), Sumb.
Symbiotics : Kali-c, Lach, Olnd, Phos, Sulph.
Counterparts : Acid-f, Aur, Cal-fl, Hep, Kali-c, Lyc, Op, Still.
Collateral : Cur, Lyc, Sep, Phos (Or Lach) and Kali-I are rehearsals of each other; one continues the work left by the other. So are Lach and Phos, also Aur-m.
Is a cocktail of: Ars, Carb-s, Cur, Hep, Iod, Kali-c, Lach, Lyc, Merc, Phos, Sep, Ssul.
Is a version of Sul, a syphilo-mercurialized Sul.
Lach is an intensified Kali-i.
Kali-I and Sul-I (both 'syphilitic Sul') carry further the work of Iod.
Anac is deeper-acting in tertiary syphilis; Kali-i is unkind to one's own people, but this one (may be a child of a Kali-i parent) is cruel to parents, may withal be 'sold out' to spouse and children and be quite amiable towards outsiders. (Another instance of a split or unstrung personality).
Relations: Kali-carb
Affiliated: To Sul (or via it) to Calc, Caust (also a Kali) is collateral (ie analogous or parallel).
Counterpart: Arg-n is counterpart of both Kali-c and Caust. Lyc is a counterpart of Arg-n and Caust. This connects Arg-n, Caust and Lyco, with Kali-c.
Symbiotic: Kali-I, kali-n, Lach.
Antidotes: Camph, Coffee.
Complementary: Ars, Ars-I, Bac-7, Calc, Carb-v, Caust, Chel, Fl-ac, Helon, Kali-i, Lach, Lyc, Mag-c, Merc, Nat-ars, Nat-m, Nit-ac, Nux-v, Phos, Phyt, Pul, Ran-b, Rhus-t, Sep, Sil, Sul, Tub.
Acutes: Ars, Ascl-t, Bell, Bry, Carb-v, Chel, Colch, Dul, Hell, Kali-s, Lach, Nux-v, Phos, Ran-b, Rhus-t Rumx (contains potassium), Spi, Squil, Stan, Ter.
Compare: Kali-sil (which is a mineral Psor), Sil and Psor are all mirrored in Kali-c in one aspect or another. So also Ran-b.
If a Kali-c patient becomes neurotic, he will first require Ran-b (or Arg-n) before Kali-c can help gainfully. Lach is symbiotic in the aged's fibrous-food and garlic intolerance causing oppression about 3 am, esp. if lying on r. side. Lach, Rhus and (its appellate) Pyro clear up the ptomaine poisoning of Kali-c & (their chronic) Calc-c. Calc-c is energized by Nit-ac which is energized by Kali-c; so indirectly Kali-c would energize Calc.
Carb-v is an acute and symbiotic to Kali-c (Carb-v emphasizes on blood, Kali-c on vagus, and through it on metabolism, Carb-c affects it directly) and is a lesser Kali-c.
Asct-t and Bry are nearest analogues and close-ups.
Compare also: Cast, Phyt, Rumx, Squil, Visc.
The Iodides and Murs are less deep-acting than Carbs; and of the former, Iodides are more angrily acting than the other two. Iods and Sulphs never disown their parents Iodine, Sulphur.
Castoreum a simplified Kali-c and helper to it; with more emphasis on spasm, syncope and collapse, and absence of rheumatic symptoms.
Mag-c is a forerunner of Kali-c and helper to it; with more emphasis on spasm, syncope and collapse, and absence of rheumatic symptoms.
Mag-c is a forerunner of Kali-c, Mag-c after suppr. of eruptions may become Kali-c (the sycotic taint) and Kali-c may turn to Mag-c after lead poisoning.
Kali-c and Kali-i help each other in mare ways than one; as e.g. the former in gastro-cardiac syndromes and psychogenic troubles and the latter in blood-dyscrasias, accretion (growths).
Kali-sil
A chemical Psorinum: filthiness, lassitude, chilliness, averse to open air, to open air, to bath, skin phase, lack of reaction. Alum-sil is ataxic, Calc-sil is a poly (stubborn-) Chronic, Kali-sil is catarrhal, Nat-sil is irritate, and all are cold and chilly, and imbibe several Sil features.
Sil is more nervous and anxious; feel abused by others. Kali-sil has more clam perseverance.
Sil is more destructive. Kali element retards the action of Sil in Kali-sil.
