I am a regular reader of NJH and have found the journal tremendously useful. The topics selected are excellent and the details beautifully compiled and presented. The 'Editorial', especially, is a real boost for all the homoeopaths.

I have just completed my graduation and have tremendous faith in homoeopathy and therefore selected it as my profession to practice. Though a junior homoeopath, yet I have dared to write down few things, as I felt that each homoeopath should be familiar with them.

Homoeopathy is not a physical science but a spiritual one; each homoeopath rather than limiting himself to physical and mental plane should understand and develop an additional approach in handling the system and the case.

Mr T K Kasiviswanathan's explanations regarding aphorisms were excellent but I felt that the real background and hidden meaning of the aphorisms is to be understood. As the 1st aphorism states, "The high and only mission is to restore the sick to health to cure as it is called" where the flow of the vital force has to be restored back to normal harmony for the reason gifted mind to freely employ this living healthy instrument for higher purpose of our existence.

Now what exactly the higher purpose is? The average person's limited aim is to accomplish ascertain the number of tasks. Once this is done, he thinks he will be happy. But at the end of the day, life has got nothing. Man basically is not in search of happiness but BLISS, which is a continuous state of highest level of happiness, beyond which there is no sorrow. No one teaches how to attain this.

As we understand the higher purpose of our intellect, we need to take help from someone who can understand things beyond intellect. I personally feel that Dr Hahnemann was a man who could understand something beyond, as if you co-relate any aphorism of organon you will find that Yes! Some things are really beyond our intellect, though we try to conveniently explain as much as we can think.

People who can understand beyond intellect, are none other than Saints/Gurus of any religion, which are difficult to identify by their external approach.

I would like to give some references of a doctor - a psychiatrist and Hypnotherapist by profession who understood the limitations of physical sciences went into spirituality and today is a Saint. He is Dr H H Jayant Balaji Athavale. (* R1)

You rightly say in your editorial of Aphorisms "Homoeopathy is the medicine of this century". This statement is absolutely perfect as in the coming 100 years India is going to be at the top in spirituality and in general. So if homoeopathy is spiritual science, naturally the things will go in right direction.

I would like to compare few basic principles of Homoeopathy and science of spirituality.

Homoeopathy Spirituality
Individualization These are many people with many temperaments and many paths of spiritual practice

Potentization From Gross body of self and the world one has to progress towards the energy is the subtle GOD principle

From many things, lives, modes of spiritual practice, one has to come to one God / deity and that is the family deity of each person.
These similarities between homoeopathy and spirituality got me interested in both.

You further say in the editorial of "Aphorisms", "For us Indian homoeopaths can there be a better bliss? But this also means that we will have to work that much harder to prepare ourselves to be perfect in our own science so that we can help so many people". This is absolutely true. If a Homoeopath is developing himself both in homoeopathy and spirituality, the problem of similimum and potency will not arise, as the various subtle energy levels can easily be detected by that Homoeopath and he will be 100% sure of the remedy and potency, as the selection of potency at least is not a physical problem but a subtle knowledge is needed to attain accuracy. This will surely help to prove the aphorisms efficient with regard to "ideal cure".

Though Dr Rene Naccachian has developed ACMOS method for finding and balancing the bioenergy of a person (Ref. Article on Homoeopathy and bioenergy - NJH "Aphorisms" issue) he will only be able to take cases of physical, mental diseases. But! HEALTH is a state of physical and mental, social and spiritual well being as defined by WHO.?

What about spiritual disease and spiritual health?
Balancing the flow of energy in "Chakras" will again be only for physical and mental well being. But what about spiritual?

If we consider that a person has got 100 problems in life, the division is -
20% physical or psychological
30% psychological and /or spiritual
50% purely spiritual

This statistics is from Saints who have analyzed it practically and experienced it.
Thus we are only handling the 20% - 40% of problems. What about remaining 60-80%? Now this cannot be an ideal cure as if a person has physical problems of spiritual origin, it is almost impossible for a normal person to identify and we keep on treating it physically where as it needs a spiritual treatment.

I would like to quote some examples regarding -

  1. Physical - Fractures, wounds, injuries, which are cured by medicines.
  2. Mental/Psychological - Mental distress on being deceived by someone-as time passes one usually gets over the situation.
  3. Spiritual - Poor success despite best efforts
    - When several members of a family suffer simultaneously eg in a family one son is psychiatric case, second is divorced within 10 days of marriage, third gave up his studies midway, the daughter is beautiful, well educated, earning good salary but is unable to get married despite tremendous efforts.
These are due to unfulfilled ancestors' souls
  • A man can do nothing about his old age, incurable diseases & death. In such a situation, the patient is depressed and only psychiatry can do something,
  • Obsessive Compulsive Neurosis
  • Addictions - why does a person get addicted even after good company and another doesn't even after worst company.
  • Suicides, homicides, crimes
  • Rheumatism, DM, Hypertension & abortions and many others with idiopathic cause.
A person, if spiritually evolved, doesn't even need a kirlian camera to see bioenergy and aura. Why use a machine when man has got capacity to develop a machine?

As it is said that if cause is identified and removed there is CURE, so why not study an additional dimension of cause and remove it?
I am trying out this approach with all my patients and myself with good results. The basic two things are

  1. "Shri Gurudeva Datta"
    • 3-6 malas/15 mins in a day for no problems/minor problems due to ancestor's souls.
    • 9 malas/ ½ hr daily for moderate to severe problems.
  2. "Shri Kuladevatayai Namaha" or the name of the kuladeva/ kuladevi many times/ day
or
Depending on the religion/sect

The problems of ancestors' souls: Nowadays most people do nor perform rites for the departed (Shraddhas), etc as in the olden days nor undertake spiritual practice, most suffer due to the subtle bodies of ancestors. Only Saints can tell whether one is suffering or will suffer due to ancestors. If one is not fortunate enough to meet a saint then considering that certain suffering is inflicted due to ancestors' subtle souls one can do spiritual practice as given below. Inability to get married, marital disharmony, difficulty in conceiving a child, miscarriages, bearing mentally retarded or handicapped children or all female progeny, death during childhood, etc. are some indications of suffering due to ancestors' subtle bodies. Poverty, physical illness, etc are other indicators.

Editor: Fortunaltely for us, most Indians believe in Gods and saints and follow religious practices. So as practitioners of the healing art, we are not needed, nor qualified to give them advice on these practices. Our job is that we should not deter them from these, and in addition, counsel them on handling their particular problems and to administer Homoeopathic remedies. It is not correct to say that we Homoeopaths handle only 20-40 %. We handle all emotional and psychological problems and in fact the similimum in most of the cases is determined substantially on the basis of mental and emotional symptoms. Only because of this we can claim that Homoeopathy is a holistic approach.
