Mr A, 40, came with bleeding per rectum during stools, since 4-5 days. He had H/o of haemorrhoids. He was a senior administrative officer, constantly under pressure and leading a sedentary life and taking alcohol frequently .By nature he was a responsible and affectionate person. He was a Hot pt.
Based upon his habits and lifestyle, I gave him one dose of Sulphur 1M and Nux-vom 200 BD X 1 week. After 5 days he called me and said there was no improvement---the bleeding was heavy and bright red. Phos 200 TDS 3days gave no improvement and hence Hamamelis Q 15 drops TDS 3 days was prescribed: Status quo.
Suddenly it struck me that as a chronic alcoholic his liver would be congested. So I started him on Cardus-marianus Q 15 drops TDS. After 3 days he called to say he was perfectly alright! He remains so till today, one yr later.
