NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 2000 Jan / Feb VOL II NO 1.
Dr Prashant Gangwal

A Homeopathic Seminar was organized by Homoeopathic Medical College Satam & Homoeopathic Research Institute Satara at HMC. Satara (MS) on 24th Jan, 2000. The chief speaker was Dr S S Vithal from Khanna (Punjab).

Dr S S Vithal, explained scientifically the concept of mode of action of Homeopathic medicine inside the human body viz cell structure, homeostasis, embryology and immunology. He emphasized the immuno-stimulant action of Homoeopathy through re-establishment of disturbed nutrient gradient. He beautifully explained how Homoeopathic medicines bring about immuno-modulation through regulatory action. Dr Vijaykar's theory of suppression, Genetic code, was explained with the help of charts and cases on OHP. He cited a case of IHD where Ars-alb 200 was given on given set of symptoms. After a week the patient felt better in chest pain, acute & gastric pains but without the feeling of well being ie particulars better not the generals; this is against the Hering's law & means suppression. After retaking the case Aur-sulph 200 1 dose brought out all the suppressed symptoms but generals better, leading to cure within one month..

Dr Vithal next discussed the LM potency: preparation, history, merits over-centisemal potency, its selection etc. He illustrated through cases, which were not responding to "C" potency but recovered completely with same medicine in LM scale.

Dr Arvind Vij spoke on treatment of acute diseases. He explained with chart and elaborated/compared different drugs in MM through practical approach.

Dr Avtar Singh stressed the study of Kent's Materia Medica and advised the physicians to build a sense of confidence amongst the patients.

Lastly, Dr Ajit Kulkarni, the main force behind this seminar of 200 delegates from Satara and around, was felicitated.
