The Monsoon Homoeopathic Workshop
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 2000 Jan / Feb VOL II NO 1.

The Monsoon Homoeopathic workshop was held on the 8th & 9th of August 1999 at Lonavala. There were 44 participants as against 22 last year. Budding Homoeopaths like Dr Sunil Anand, Dr Nandita Shah & Dr Sudhir Baldota were present. There were people from different corners of Maharashtra like Sangli, Pune & Mumbai.
Cases:
While Dr Abhay's case of Staphysagria cleared all misconceptions about lack of information in case taking in the villages Dr Sudhir Baldota's case of Stramonium emphasized the need to go deeper beyond actual words of the patient & try to understand their true meaning.
Dr Sachindra's case of Ruta was a good example of how in a well-analyzed case all the blocks fit in place to explain the entire picture of the patient.
There were two cases of newly proven remedies. Cadmium-met of Dr Zahid Panchi was a case of a conscientious person who felt indispensable but at the same time complained that she was not given the value & importance due to her.
Dr Nikam shared cases from his Homoeopathic hospital. One remarkable case was that of Sanicula prescribed on the desire for breast milk and irritability alternating with playfulness, in a child with asthma.
Our teacher Dr Sunil Anand showed us two cases: One of Histamine which was a prescription based on the patient's intense impatience and an incapacity to wait. The second case of Borax gave a whole new dimension to an already known remedy. Borax is indicated for premature rupture of membranes during labour when baby can no longer be contained in the womb. Likewise, the patient could hardly contain himself and was very impulsive.
The success also goes to the organizers Dr Shachindra Joshi, Dr Zahid Panchi and Dr Bhawisha Joshi all of whom are enthusiastic Homoeopaths who worked ardently and zealously for this brainstorming workshop. I look forward to many more sessions.
