Monogram:
| Debilitated | Vulnerable | Scorbutic |
| Ulcerative | Destructive | Cachectic |
| Cancerous | Degenerative | Tubercular |
Make-Up: Pale, thin, sickly, broken down, emaciating, cachectic; inherited phthisis leading to early decline, premature old looking; chilly (except Fl-ac)
Action: Depressive irritant to nerves, neuropathic (Acet-ac, Hydr-ac, Ph-ac, Pic-ac). Senses first active, then lost. All acids produce exhaustion. Physiologically too, exhaustion is accompanied with acid imbalance. Mineral acids produce irritability of fiber and irritable weakness whereas vegetable acids produce weakness without irritability. Metabolism disrupted.
Affinity:
| Nutrition | Vegetative tissues - fibrous/connective |
| Metabolism | Glands; Blood - Nerves |
| Mucous Membranes | Sexual organs |
Miasm: Tubercular3, syphilitic2, Sycotic2
Mind: Fight response rather than flight. Aggressive, oversensitive, Anger-violent à destructive, vindictive, heightened sexual desire. Irresponsible gaiety, unstrung. Active in every day matters; with marked mental decay later. Hurriedness accompanied or followed by exhaustion.
Pains: Burning, biting, stitching, Fulgurating, Pricking like needle.
Suddenness: weakness, spasms, apoplexy; collapse, unconsciousness, bleeding; septicemia.
Clinical Application: Aphthous stomatitis; nutritional disorders; diarrhea; dysentery; anemia; bleeding disorders; scurvy; arthopathies; diabetes; toxic, fulminating, debilitating infections; tuberculosis; putrescent conditions;. bone diseases, cancers etc.
Relations: Ammonium group, Ophidia group, Halogen group, Radio-active group, Nosodes.
Comments: Acid group case usually progresses along (1) Nutrition disorder or (2) Tissue degeneration - paralysis, sclerosis etc.
Acid-group comes into play especially when definitive pathology is present. Tubercular and syphilitic miasmic background makes the system vulnerable, producing disorganization with rapidity. However, in the initial stage, the group shows its fight or struggle; soon shunting to enervation. Hence its use is in acute as well as chronic. In acute, more comparable is the 'Ophidia' group and in chronic 'Halogen group'. 'Carbon' group will be projected at a still later stage, when vitality is more degraded.
