Dr M L Sehgal has been treating his patients under his system called Revolutionized Homoeopathy in which, at the time of consultation, he takes into account the present, predominating and persistent symptoms of the mind. He has a unique way of interpreting the repertorial rubrics for arriving at the remedy. He has written a series of books under the title "Rediscovery of Homoeopathy". This system of prescribing has several followers.

His sons and his daughter in law have now compiled this new Materia Medica of the Mind in which they have attempted to connect the different facets of the peculiar symptoms (which forms the essence) of each remedy into a meaningful whole with a view to give a better understanding of the various remedies. There is a foreword by Dr H L Chitkara and a Preface by Dr Rajan Sankaran. Dr ML Sehgal does not fully agree with the observations of Dr Rajan Sankaran and has given his comments in his introduction to this book.

This text is compiled by taking the rubrics from the Synthetic Repertory and placing them under the respective remedy in alphabetical order. The symptoms, which are singular, are given under the heading "Alone" and those which are common, are given under the heading "with others". Additions from Sehgal are marked (s) to indicate the source with similar notation for Synthetic Repertory and that of Robin Murphy.

The GEMS (interpretation and meaning of rubrics) from Dr Sehgal's book under ROH series IV have also been incorporated. In all, 916 remedies have been covered.
