Case 1:
A woman suffered severe depression arising from a long history of suppression by her family. Initially Dr Roger Morrison gave her Staphysagria and the patient had a good reaction and came out of her depression but developed severe anxiety coming on at night, around 1 or 2 AM. She would get up from bed with tremendous anxiety and would go around cleaning the house (bathroom, floors etc) and putting everything in order. This cleaning continued till 2- 3 AM and then only could she sleep.
She had a high sex drive; was extremely hot blooded, profuse sweating, needed open window constantly; extremely restless and could hardly sit still anymore. Dr Morrison gave Arsenicum-alb and Sulphuric-acid without benefit. Then he consulted Dr Vithoulkas who suggested Arsenicum-iodatum as the patient was hot. That remedy immediately relieved.
Dr Morrison writes in his Desktop Guide that both Ars and Iodium are restless remedies and this remedy is warm-blooded and may be considered in cases which fit Ars if patients are warm blooded. There is tremendous restlessness and anxiety. It can be used in hyperactive children who, out of restlessness, can tear apart the doctor's office.

Case 2:
Mr N, aged 29 years, came for treatment of bronchial asthma from which he was suffering since several years; attacks were frequent, between 2-3 AM, induced by anxiety. During attack, patient felt very weak, did not like to be disturbed and was intolerant of noise. Very anxious and restless, yet sat still. He felt lost and did not know what was happening. Felt choked up; swallowing was difficult. Often wondered whether he would survive the attack.
The patient was in textile business. He felt that his business partner had cheated him. This upset him a great deal as the partner was his close friend. He changed his business and started computer classes. In his life, his greatest grief were the death of his mother when he was very young, the heavy business losses he suffered twice, and now this. Most times, he suppresses his anger but at times it bursts out.
Dr Rajan Sankaran initially gave him Staph without any effect. On studying the case he recognized the following features. The complaints came in attacks: the breathlessness, the anger etc. he feels suppressed yet sensitive. These features belong to malarial miasm. Coupled with this, the rubrics-respiration, asthmatic, after midnight and 3 am and cough after midnight led him to China and Arsenicum. The case had the features of both the remedies- the cheated feeling of Ars and the harassed feeling of China. The cravings
(sour, spices, fruits) also fitted in with China and Ars. However the specific
features -"Disturbed, averse to being" belongs to China-ars. It is a well-known malarial remedy & covers periodic asthmatic attacks with great prostration. He is censorious with friends and restless with exhaustion. The patient was prescribed Chin-ars 10M. Frequency of asthmatic attacks greatly diminished. He remained free of attacks for 6 months and then had a bad one, which responded again promptly to China-ars. The patient's father also responded well to the same remedy for his very severe eczema and his son also for his asthma, which disappeared completely under that remedy.

Case 4:
A man aged 60, suffering from bronchitis had many courses of antibiotics with no cure. He had slight fever with perspiration. In the morning he coughed up blobs of mucus, which was stringy, blackish yellow in colour. He was short of breath and was very sensitive to draught and always had to wear scarf. He also suffered from an inflamed tender testicle & a swollen Lt Submaxillary gland.
Analysis : There are many indications for Kalium: < draught, ambitious < 3 hour
Also indications for Bromium. Swollen gland, inflamed testicle, warm blooded, > seaside. Above all there are direct indications for Kali-bromatum : wringing hands. << stopping work, feeling of guilt and delusion of having murdered someone or having another woman.
Kali-brom 1M was given twice and the complaints disappeared almost completely within 3 months.
