Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, Ranchi Unit, & Rotary Club Ranchi [North] organized a Symposium on 22nd Nov 1998 at International Cultural Centre, Club rd, Ranchi.

The symposium was chaired by Mrs. A B Devis, District Chairperson - AIDS Awareness, Rotarian, and Dist 3250.
Dr M K Sahni, Director, Research of Sahni Drug Transmission and Homoeopathy, Patna and President HMAI State Branch were the chief speaker.

D G Rtn Mr Ajay Chabbra elaborated the role of Rotary in AIDS awareness. Dr R P Yadav, Research officer, Clinical Research unit for Homoeopathy [T] President HMAI Ranchi unit, deliberated upon the importance of case taking and application of drugs & the basis of prescription of Homoeopathic medicines at different stages of AIDS [HIV]

Dr M K Sahni presented 5 case reports of AIDS patients treated in his institution with Homoeopathic remedies and reported marked improvement in their health following treatment. In a confirmed case of HIV positive by Elisa and Western blot test, he used constitutionally Phos, Tuberculinum, and Staphysagria in 50M scales, which worked well to give symptomatic relief. He also explained that any patient of AIDS could get relief from his suffering if thorough history is taken and proper constitutional remedy given.

[Editor: The follow up with the pathological results would be useful to prove conclusively.]

Rtn Dr K K Panday discussed the pathological assessment of AIDS patient. He told the house about mode of action of HIV.
