A Scientific Seminar was held in Yavatmal on February 28 and March 1, 1998, in memory of the great Homoeopath of Vidarbha, the late Dr G N Umredkar. Organized by Shree Chaitanya Homoeo Research Centre, the theme for the seminar was "An Approach to a Case". The chief speakers were to be Dr S A Dhole, Dr Kasim Chimthanawala, Dr Pradeep Garge and Dr P V Kelkar (Dr Chimthanawala and Dr Kelkar could not come due to personal problems).

On the first day of the seminar, a camp was organized at Murzad, an Adivasi village. About 300 patients were checked by Dr Garge and 10 other doctors. Homoeopathy was seen to be popular in this village due to the efforts of the late Dr Umredkar who had practiced among these tribals extensively. The day concluded with a classical mehfil by Smt Jayshree Vaishnav.

On the second day, the Scientific Session was inaugurated by senior Homoeopath Dr Maru; the function was presided over by Dr Gupte.

In the pre-lunch session, Dr S A Dhole elaborated on the various theoretical approaches, emphasizing the importance of Adhyatmic (spiritual) awareness for the prevention and cure of disease. In the post-lunch session, Dr Garge talked on the practical approach. Using Lord Ganesha as a symbol, he discussed various cases.

Dr Swanand Umredkar shared his experiences with a few cases and gave the Vote of Thanks.

Dr Jayesh Hatgaonkar and Dr Sandeep Agarwal should be commended for making the seminar a huge success.
