Honour for Homoeopath

Dr Girish Gupta, a enthusiastic Homoeopathic practitioner and chief editor of Asian Homoeopathic Journal has been conferred with "Rajib Goyal Young Scientist Award" for 1997 for his original research work entitled "Anti Mycotic Potential of Homoeopathic Drugs" This work has been conducted in collaboration with Medical Mycologists in the mycology Lab of Gaurang clinic and centre for Homoeopathic Research, Lucknow. His name was proposed and recommended by the National Academy of Chemistry and Biology. The award carries Rs 10,000/ -, a medal and a citation, which will be given at a ceremony at Kurukshetra University [Haryana] in January 1999. This is perhaps for the first time that the Chemists & Scientists have been given due recognition to Homoeopathy owing to scientific and experimental research in which action of Homoeopathic drugs have been studied on fungal infections causing various diseases in human beings. This is a great recognition by scientific community indeed. The award has been announced by Dr S P Singh, Professor in the Dept of Chemistry, Kurukshetra University, Haryana.
