CASES MATERIA MEDICA GENERAL ARTICLES ABSTRACT MISCELLANEOUS Q & A

Tight Thighs
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1998 May / Jun VOL VII NO 4.
DR K Raju
'Plat

The patient is a 72 year old male, banker & very strict in his duties. He is dark and of robust constitution but bow legged since a decade. Even in this old age his voice is like a roaring lion. He is usually never bothered about the feelings of others. He is adamant and always wants to establish his supremacy. Neglecting disposition.

He was mentally upset on losing his loving wife died last year. Since then, his strict and domineering attitude gradually increased to a peak. His son and daughter-in-law are very submissive, co-operative and helpful in his daily affairs. Though he is very arrogant and never compromises on any issue, whether good or practical.

He complained about his thighs feeling constricted. He came for treatment on 23/11/97 and said that he correlated the pain with the sacral pain, which made it impossible for him to walk. It seemed that the latent psora rose to exhibit its features through the mind. Platina was the remedy selected, based on the most striking, singular and peculiar symptom, as per the aphorism 153 of Organon. Referring to Dr J H Clarke's dictionary of Practical M M pg. 844 we read "as if abdomen, chest, nape, limbs, thigh, great toe feel too tightly wrapped or constricted.

Date Symptoms Remedy
23/11/97 Slight > Platina 200 1 dose
30/11/97 50% better Platina 200 1 dose
15/12/97 Recurrence of symptoms which gradually subsided Platina 1M 1 dose

It is now 8 months and there is no recurrence of his symptoms as mentioned in the letter from his son on 25/8/98.
