CASES MATERIA MEDICA GENERAL ARTICLES ABSTRACT MISCELLANEOUS Q & A

Some Suggestions from an Experienced Homeopath
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1998 Jan / Feb VOL VII NO 1.
Dr Sosi Roy

Dr Sosi Roy, a grand old man of 84 years, has placed some rubrics and symptoms for additional entries in the repertory. And as these do not relate to any particular organs of the body, they should be added to chapter on 'generalities'.

Sudden Onset:
Angina-attack of: Nitric- acid
Blood rush of to the chest: Bell
Blood rush of, in vein: Kali- carb
Cramp- attack of: Coca,
Deafness at night: Elaps
Delirium -Severe giddiness
Delirium and hallucination: Absinth
Diarrhoea-attack of in early morning: Tuber
Memory-loss of: Carbo- veg
Features during climacteric: Lach
Haemorrhage: Tuber
Puffiness of body: Apis
Remembers unimportant region: Senega
Speech loss of: Can-ind
Sight vanishing up: Puls
Vomiting of milk: Merc- sol

Positions and poses are prominent symptoms in case of mind [derangement], sleep and asthmatic attack and they should have a place in Generalities Chapter.

"Sequeli" [not keeping well after a disease. Carbo- veg. Not improving after a burn: Causticum] and 'cause' [as imbecility after vaccination: Thuja] needs a place in the chapter on Generalities.
Other Physicians too, who seriously use the repertory, would find more such rubrics for insertions in the repertory. They may send their suggestions to a proposed committee for revision of the repertory.
"Labour and management after" have many symptoms. Could they also be included in 'Generalities'.

There are many symptoms in the Mind Section which need more detailed notes for easy consultation. Of course, details of such symptoms of will require a lot of space. For example.:
1.One prominent mental symptom of Thuja has been given as "fixed idea" in the remedy. But the meaning is not clear. I have used the remedy in cases where a single thought gets fixed in the patient's mind and he thinks about it day and night. In psychology this is termed as "Obsession"

2. In Sabadilla. "has erroneous notion about himself.' The patient may think that she has cancer. But I cured such a case by application of Thuja, in which the patient saw the suffering and death of a neighbour and instantly began to think that she has the same disease.

Though any disease based 'rubric' has been mostly avoided in the repertory, we are to cure problematic diseases with Homoeopathic remedies. I have cured a heroin drug addict with Nux- vomica in very high potency. Attempts are on to find the remedy for Thalassaemia. So disease names should have a place in the repertory as rubrics.
To conclude: perfection of repertory can not be the job of a single physician .We should all join hands in this work to enrich it.

Editor- We agree entirely with this Grand Old man of Homoeoapthy. So do others. Therefore many Newer Repertories like Robbins & Complete Repertory have emerged of the scene. Robbins, I know has disease names. Refe Repertory issue 6/97 of NJH which , I feel has done a very comprehensive coverage of Repertory.
