HMAI Hubli Seminar: April 1997

Homoeopathic Medical Association of India [HMAI], Karnataka state - Dharwad district branch organised a seminar at Hubli on 20th April 1997 to celebrate birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hanhnemann at the Sawai Gandharwa Auditorium, which was attended by over 350 Homeopaths from Karnataka.

Shri H K Patil, the leader of opposition, Karnataka Legislative Council and the chief guest, inaugurated the function. He paid glorious tribute to Dr Hahnemann and called upon the management of the Homoeopathic colleges in the State to impart standard education to the students. He also opined that if any college did not measure up to the standards of CCH, it should be mercilessly closed down. Shri Ashok Katwe, MLA, Hubli city called upon Homoeopathic doctors to practice only Homoeopathy.

Others who promised support were
Dr S M Angadi Director, Dr [Mrs] Shantha Kumari, Dy Directory, Dr Veerabramhachary, President of Karnataka board of Homoeopathy, Dr M R Srivastan, Dr Z M L Hasan, the National Vice-President of HMAI and Dr Verghese Samuel, the organising secretary of HMAI.

A souvenir was also released to commemorate the 242nd birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann.

The first session was on the 'Role of Mind Factor' in Homoeopathic therapeutics and Case analysis by Dr A Ramdas, a senior practitioner from Bangalore. He dwelt at length on the significance and applying the principles of Psychiatry to arrive at the similimum, where other approaches have not given the desired result. He also presented cases to prove his point.

The second session by Dr [Mrs] Rama Marathe, Professor of Medicine, Bhartesh Homoeopathic Medical College Belgaum, talked on the 'Homoeopathic approach to Trigeminal Neuralgia'. This paper presented new ideas like the concept of Main remedy and accessory remedy.

The third session on the art of Homoeopathic prescriptions was chaired by Dr B N Prakash, Principal - Govt Homoeopathic Medical College, Bangalore. Dr B T Rudresh, presented some cases.

The fourth session had Dr S K Tiwari, Principal, Fr Mueller's Homoeopathic Medical College, Mangalore, speaking on Homoeopathic approach to Psoriasis with the aid of some slides which brought colour to the topic.

The fifth and final session had Dr B B Patil, an ENT Surgeon from Hubli, speaking on the Homoeopathic approach to incurable diseases. He presented some cases to support the importance of the Holistic management in incurable diseases.
