The 5th winter school for advanced training in the principles and practices of Homoeopathy, India was conducted at Shaad Hospital Complex and Research Centre from 22nd Dec to 29th Dec 1996.
The entire training programme was imparted in the age old traditional Gurukul system, where the Guru Dr Kasim Chimthanawala from Calcutta school of Homoeopathy, a direct student of Late Dr J N Kanjilal, Late Dr B K Bose and Dr S K Dubey, unfolded the m;uind of the Shishya in a disciplined artistic manner laying maximum stress on the evolution of the MENTAL EYE and Powers of PERCEPTION in the disciples, so as to make them susceptible competent Homoeopaths.
A total of 20 candidates coming from different parts of the country were divided into 5 teams Dr J N Kanjilal, Dr J T Kent, Dr Allen group, Dr B K Bose, and Dr Robert group. Each day started with Yogasana, meditation and physical training followed by case taking. All cases were discussed with Dr Kasim by Lectures on Homoeopathic Philosophy, Materia Medica, Repertory, Miasms and Nosode by the President Dr Kasim himself, Dr Sanjay Tambe [secretary] and other faculty members. Model cases were given to be solved with clinical Analysis and to rubricate the cases. Lectures on auxiliary measures were given by renowned specialists of Nagpur.
At the end of the training, viva voce examination was conducted and errors by participants were corrected with suggestions and the successful graduates were given post graduate certificate and medical students and interns were given professional competence certificates.
A homely environment, the Guru-shishya style, a unique team work from the faculty members and the urge of learn Homoeopathy in the disciples, all together contributed for the orientation in developing confidence for better practice of Hahnemannian Homoeopathy, a scientific art.
This unique training opportunity should be used by every student, neophytes and Homoeopathic pratictioners.
The 5th winter school was a dream come true for me.
