Jeypore Health Camp - Sept' 96

The Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, undivided Koraput District Branch in collaboration with Project Co-ordinator, World Food Programme Project, Bhubaneswar, organised a health camp at Gaudapaddar villages, Jeypore on 22-9-96.
Dr B Venu Gopal, S S Nain, Dr A N Sarab, Dr KS Das and other paramedical staff examined 196 patients. Inspite of only 12 hours notice, villagers from different areas queued up to collect medicines. Most of the villagers suffer from malnutrition, malaria and anaemia. They strongly demanded a regular Homoeodispensary to cater to the need of the villages. The cost of medicines was borne by the world food programme promject authorities. Shri B K Shukla, IFS, division forest officer was present on behalf of the project. So far the project has been organizing this type of camp with Allopaths only. Now with the representation of HMAI, Koraput branch the Project authorities have organised this Homoeopathic camp being the first of its kind in the Orissa state.
The Association has also distributed preventive and curative drugs free of cost for viral conjunctivitis which spread throughout the country recently. The genus epidemicus was Sanicula 1M. However, Belladona 200, Euphrasia 200 also were prescribed to many patients. About 5000 patients benefited.
