Homoeopathy Acts Acutely in Acutes.
Most people and young Homoeopathic physicians fear that Homoeopathy acts very slowly in acute cases like fever etc. and it cannot relieve quickly. Also many physicians advise allopathy along with Homoeo treatment.
But experience teaches me that it is easier to treat acute cases than chronic cases. In acute case the striking symptom indicates the remedy immediately, whereas in chronic cases one has to choose the similimum from the many "indicated" medicines.
CASE :
A 40 years old male complained of high fever associated with vomiting since 2 days; temp 102 F; chill +, wants to cover. Keeping himself occupied with his tablework provides much relief. I was just thinking about seasonal remedies like Ars alb, so I enquired about his vomiting. He said it is after midnight and ameliorated after eating. It struck me as being unusual, so I referred to Kent Rep where I found only one remedy : Ferr-met. I gave him the same remedy I dose in 200 potency and within 12 hours the temperature came down to normal and no vomiting was reported. He even did not have the weakness after such a high fever. Later, when I analyzed the case I found that the other symptoms like fever better by mental exertion which i had totally overlooked, and vomiting after midnight only indicated Ferrum met as the similimum.
I concluded by saying Homoeopathy acts acutely in all cases if the indicated remedy is given. So, the failure in an acute case is the failure of the Homoeopathic physician and not of Homoeopathic science.
