Hypertension-issue of NJH (Vol V Nos. 1 January-February 1996) is excellent.
Dr S.M. Gunavantes "In Focus" is informative . As usual, Dr Asrani is instructive; Dr Kothari (and Dr Mehta) perceptive. Two choices of yours deserve special praise. One, a reprint from August 1952 issue of Hahnemannian Gleanings and second, inclusion of a chapter from George Vithoulkas.
Talks on Classical Homoeopathy was under a well chosen title by you: Similar or Identical? It needs to be noted that there are hints about the identical (without using that term) but not its awareness on the part of George. Note, for example, "He was going higher and higher in potency and GRAFTING THE PROVING ONTO HIS SYSTEM" (page 41, emphasis added). One response: "The patient was completely Nat-m. Everything and every single symptom that he had; it was just unbelievable" (page 42). You have added "Why? Since Identical?" but in the essay there is no reference to, or awareness of the term identical.
Again," Q.7. If he originally needed Sepia and the doctor prescribed Nat-m and then he proved Nat-m., would you still then give Nat-m., high?" George replies in the affirmative. It is quite clear that a conscious distinction is nowhere drawn between the SIMILAR remedy (which has to be prescribed) and the IDENTICAL remedy (which needs to be avoided and whose effect need to be got rid of). In NJH Vol. IV No. 6 page 347, attention was drawn to this Nat-m. case by me.
A few lines about my article Hypertensive people (page 44-45) One whole line of my typed-script is missing which perhaps made the thought a bit obscure. Reproduced below is the para with the missing words in capitals. "Theoretically a disease can be mitigated by any drug which is similar in its essence as reflected in the symptoms produced by it, to the picture presented by symptoms produced by it, to the picture presented by a sick person.

This has reference to Epilepsy issue of NJH Vol V, nos 2. The Editors note after my case "Dilemma" (on page 99-100) raises the question of my claim that only Lachesis acted although late. She wants to know that inspite of prescriptions of Opium, Veratrum-alb how Lachesis continues to show the results however late as claimed.
In reply I state the following-Homoeopathy doesnt think it necessary and right what intermediate prescriptions were given after the constitutional prescription because with changing acute states one has to prescribe accordingly. But does one refuse to give Belladonna in a violent acute throat condition calling for it simply because one has given a strong drug (constitutional drug). These passing phases may be caused by ice or exposure to sun or overheating in a long bus journey.
Dr. MIRZA A BAIG, Mumbai.
The Editors note on my article a case of Hypertension in the Hypertension issue of NJH leaves behind a bitter taste in me.
As we all know simultaneous administration of allopathic drug along with Homoeopathic drug is totally contraindicated in Homoeopathy which fact is stressed over and again by our masters and founder of Homoeopathy. Moreover we also know that Homoeopathic drugs act faster than even latest allopathic drugs. So sudden stoppage of allopathic drug in any condition is not all harmful provided the Homoeopathic drug chosen is perfect and the Simillimum.
Also tapering of drugs applies only to drugs like steroids and not other specific drug like-anti-diabetic or anti-hyper-tensive which are to be administered in full dose as half the dose would amount to quackery.
Dr. MADHOSUDAN ADONI, Chalisgaon
Editor: I reiterate: better to taper. This is not quackery.
Thanks a lot for the Hypertension issue. I am writing on behalf of my father. I have never been a practitioner myself but the books and volumes, monographs and brochures, periodicals and patients too which we had in our house for the past three and a half decades, have made me gather some findings which I would like to share with you, other Homoeopaths and laymen who for every little trouble rush to gulp down Homoeopathic remedies (allopathically). All these have one motto" There is no harm". This is on account of easy availability, easier way of use and most due to who form 30 percent of patients postulate (which all seem to know) that a Homoeopathic remedy when matches, cures and when doesnt will not harm. It is true only with persons who do not have a trace of Psoric miasm. Psorics, which are more than one third of the total, respond severely to almost every remedy. And a persistent use causes even other miasms to be grafted on their vitality. There may be development of irreversible structures like stones (kidney, gall etc.) muscle atrophies, tumours and all other systemic and constitutional troubles.
Homoeopathy is not all that harmless with an unwise and especially a long and indiscriminate use of it. It is better for medicine minded to resort to any other pathy than part with their own vital forces, most innocently.
