Common Names: Wormwood, Mugwort, Beifuss.
Method of Preparations: Tincture of fresh root.
Plant order: Compositae.
Clinical efficacy - Seen on Catalepsy, Chorea, Convulsions, Dysmania, Epilepsy,
Hydrocephalis, Somnambulism, Worms.
Causation: Blow on head, fright or bad news or grief.
Mind - The patient is irritable and excitable before attack of epilepsy. Walks in street,
suddenly stop, stares into space, often mumbles a few words. An inclination to steal. Gets
up at night and works, remembers nothing in the morning.
Generalities:
- It has a prominent place in convulsive disease of childhood and girls at puberty.
- An attack - The patient is excitable and irritable before attack. Epilepsy after fright or grief, after a blow on head with menstrual disturbances, with teething. Attack accompanied or followed by profuse offensive sweat, by seminal ejaculation. Attacks frequently repeated then followed by a long interval to rest. Right side convulsed left side paralyzed.
- Profuse sweat - a fetid, cadaveric or garlic like odour is characteristic.
- Chorea with inability to swallow Hungry but cant swallow.
- Coloured light produces dizziness.
- Violent cramps in abdomen; irregular insufficient menses.
Relationship:
artemisia-vulg acts better when given with wine than water.
Compatible - Stram, Puls Aur.
Similar to - Cicuta (staring, jerking head), Cina (eyes), Apis, Hell, Bufo (irritable
before fit), Caust, Cham, Ruta, Secale, Bry (chewing motion of jaw).
Compatible after - Acon, Bell, Bry, Helleb, Cina, Iod.
Compatible before - Caust.
