CASES MATERIA MEDICA GENERAL ARTICLES ABSTRACT MISCELLANEOUS Q & A

IIHP (Mumbai)

Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians (Mumbai) was hitherto concentrating on -

  1. consolidating its position by bringing large number of Homoeopaths in its fold.
  2. Programmes concerning the study and application of Homoeopathy.
  3. Taking Homoeopathic treatment to Kondivade village in Maharashtra.

Kondivade is an economically backward village near Karjat in Raigad District about 100 kms from Bombay and about 10 kms from Karjat Railway Station. Population of the village is about 2000 consisting mainly of chamars and adivasis. Literacy percentage in the village is very low. There is not a single clinic in Kondivade or the surrounding villages and even for primary medical needs the villagers have to trek 10 kms to Karjat.

The Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians was introduced to this village by Rotary Club - Mulund through a social service organisation - Bandhilki which helped us to motivate the villagers.

40 enthusiastic doctor members of Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians then launched a door to door campaign in the village. About 120 patients with all sorts of diseases from Arthritis down to ulcerative colitis inclusive of malignant condition like Leucoplakia were examined and their detailed case histories noted. All these patients were given Homoeopathic medicines free of cost.

Our efforts do not end here. Every Sunday this village will have 3 doctors from Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians attending to their ailments.

A very laudable effort for promoting Homoeopathic rural healthcare.
