One side. Shake-up sprain, cold Skin erupting. drinks.
Rheumatic, Paralytic, Periodic
Deeper acting than Rhus-tox, with greater debility, hence less useful in acutes. Marked
periodicity (hence a great antipsoric) eg--return of symptoms every year on 5th July at
12:45 pm.
Rheumatic Pains: Unilateral with sensitiveness, rigidity and contraction of affected muscles. Pains worse at night, moving the part or during early part of motion, better on continued motion. Pains wander in various directions and often in mutually remote parts; in succession: sharp, lacerating, stinging.
Excessive debility, general languor with aversion to physical or mental exertion and desire to lie down; paralysis traumatic, sand destruction of nerve tissue of lower limbs after a spinal lesion or concussion of spinal marrow.
Lymphatic glands swollen. Very deep and hard swelling of axillary glands.
Brain: Momentary unconsciousness at night, cerebral congestion, hot head (worse night as from wine), hot forehead, Rheumatic headaches alternating with colic. Forehead, (Rhus-t) occipital, with rheumatic stiffness of neck, extending forwards (over head) worse bending head forward, washing hands, in one temple, supraorbital. Continuous pains. Prickling in temple. Tinnitus, sound of rain.
Heat in nose. Rhinoscleroma. Tongue red, burning, pricking.
Appendicitis, catarrhals after influenza, Rhus tox failing. Nightly polyuria. Diabetes.
Pleurodynia or false pleurisy, chest pains shoot into shoulders (and also into arm). Axillae, soreness and drawing in large nerves.
Lumbago, Torticollis, with headache. Arm pains follow course of ulnar nerve. Drawing--tearing pains in legs. Sciatica.
Sleepiness in daytime, sleepless at night. Dreamy; imperfect unrefreshing sleep.
Skin: Scleroderma. Warm weather eruptions. "Itching with burning pricking worse on touch. Itching always keeps in advance of the part scratched.".
Erythema red inflamed tuberculoid elevations. Eczema; on perineum and scrotum with sweat in cleft of nates. Vesicles. Papules. Scaly; after quinine; with itching worse touch, scratching causes vertigo and a voluptuous sensation. History of suppressed eruption followed by haemoptysis, then pneumonia controlled by Lach.
Urticaria; annual. The patient craves cold (uncovers) but itching and burning are better by warmth (Kent--but also worse warmth).
Erysipelas phlegmonous esp when it begins in ankles and gradually moves up the leg penetrating into deeper tissues; little or no fever, worse in hot weather; neonatorum (from umbilical phlebitis).
