Charing the Scientific Session, Dr M Kutumba Rao of Vijaywada emphasized that Homoeopaths treat the Diabetic and not diabetes. Hence there was vast scope for individualization and treatment.

Noted Diabetologist of Guntur Dr P Raghava detailed the causes, course and complications of the disease and opined that 4 to 8 percent of Diabetic causes in urbanites is due to stress and strain of modern life. When amputation is the only resort even with insulin therapy in Allopathy, combining Homoeo therapy with drugs like Ars-alb, Sulphuric-acid, Acetic-acid, Anthrax, Thyroidinum, and mother tinctures like Calendula, Echinacea and Paeonia yielded excellent results said Dr Shetty.

Dr Sastry analyzed 30 most common symptoms of diabetes with the help of repertorisation and said Sulphur, Phosphorus, Lycopodium, Ars-alb, Merc-sol were the top 5 remedies that covered the maximum number of rubrics and scored more marks, and hence are frequently useful in the disease.
