The above training course was held for one week from 10th December 1995 at Shaad Hospital Complex and Research Centre, Nagpur, under the auspices of National Academy of Homoeopathy, India. The course is intended to impart intensive training in various subjects of Homoeopathy so that all concepts are made clear starting from the philosophy of Homoeopathy and ending with the management of patients during treatment.
It is a disciplined course in the traditional Gurukula system. The daily work starts with Shaad Yoga from 6 am, inclusive of mind-control, Pranayama, Yogasanas and physical training for about an hour. Case-taking of Chimthanawala delivers lectures on different topics every day from 9 am to 2pm. Assignments are given on repertorization, etc., every day. Special lectures on allied subjects of modern medicine by t top specialists of Nagpur were held at nights from 9 to 11 pm.

The environment, concern of the faculty members, live case-studies, assignments and the final examination all contributed for the orientation of every participant to develop confidence in the better practice of Homoeopathy under any situation. During the Clinical Session: model cases were given to each team as an exercise. Every team was asked to work upon then and answer the question asked.
Similarity, every team was asked t record atleast 5 live cases and had to undertake a similar type of exercise.
One unique feature of this school was a diagnosed case of AIDS. His case was recorded, discussed and after repertorisation from Kent and Klunker, Aurum met 200 was selected. The case is being followed up by Dr Sanjay Tambe.
To give an understanding of the way a case is studied we give a model case.
A Model Case-Cervical spondylosis:.
In August 1990, a married, lean and thin male, aged about 46 years working as a foreman in a factory, came with the complaint of intermittent pains in both shoulders, scapular region left upper limb, forearm and hand along with tingling and numbness for the past 4-6 years.
The complaints started after about 3-4 months of a severe emotional strain (which he was not ready to elaborate). The pains were in the form of dull aches but at times they were like electric shock, aggravated during summers and on application on warmth. Cold application relieved. At times had left sided tension headaches since school days. Now it has reduced.
Temperamentally he was mild, reserved and had a worrying attitude. Not satisfied with his job he had frequent altercations with his seniors. BP was 148/90 and ESR 45 mm at the end of one hour.
Liked to take boiled eggs daily but averse to meat. He also relished raw potatoes. Stool constipated but no complaining from it. Perspiration easy, more on head. Around the age of 15 his tonsils were removed.
Suffered from Eczematous Dermatitis till 10 years of age and got cured after lot of treatments. There is a dark colored hairy patch on the left shoulder since birth. At present there are a number of fine red coloured spots all over the abdomen and chest.
Habit of smoking (6-7 cigarettes per day) with occasional alcohol.
Father had suffered from joint pains. Sister and Paternal Uncle died of Pulmonary
Tuberculosis.
X-ray of cervical spine showed signs of degeneration and reduction C5-C6 space.
