FOLLOW THE SIMILAR RULE
Whatever the disease; we Homoeopaths should follow the rule of "Similia Similibus Curentar and it will lead to the cure of the patient.
My experience
A 55 year old female complained of pain on swallowing and difficulty in speaking with hoarseness. She used to have frequent colds and was very sensitive to cold air. On examination, there was a hard indurated swelling on the right side of the palate, diagnosed as Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the palate.
Treatment
Based on the characteristic symptoms, we started treatment with Aur-ars 200 1 dose on the basis of the right-sided Cancerous induration aggravation on touch with loathing of life; and Hydrastis Q Cancer palate (KR 398) - Aur hydr, but these drugs gave little relief inspite of administration in various potencies.
For acute colds, we prescribed Merc-iodatus-flavus which gave her a little relief. To eradicate the sensitiveness, we gave Hep-sulph 200 1 dose (sensation of splinter and right sided remedy). After Hepar, the hard swelling started reducing and an ulcer of the cervical gland appeared which drained the cancerous matter along with pus and blood. The growth reduced in size, restored the voice and swallowing was easier.
On the basis of the appearance of an ulcer of the gland with punched out edges, we prescribed Kali-bich 200 1 dose which gave great relief to the patient.
Thus, Hepar-sulph, usually thought of only in acute cases, led the case in a curative direction, because of similarity of symptoms.
