Cancer and Naturopath.

Cases.

In naturopathy when we talk about a treatment it is a holistic approach and most of the initial treatments relating to body cleansing and removing body toxicity with the help of enema, elimination diet, sitz bath are common.

But when we talk about cancer, a dreaded disease, things will change drastically. It is very rare that cancer patient approach a naturopath. However when a person comes with determination it is definite that he could get a good result. Because all of us know that fifty percent part is being played by the mind of a patient for a speedy recovery of his-her ailments.

CASES

I have treated few cases of leukemia and few cases of breast cancer post mastectomy and mammoplasty.

Mrs. A, a patient of leukemia was suffering since 1986. However, the patient did not come to me initially but only after a treatment of chemotherapy for two years. She came to me with a lot of hesitation; she had a lot of nausea, no appetite and sleeplessness. She was 35 years old then and had problems in menstruation.

Treatment

Initially I gave her plain water enema for five days with breakfast of wheat grass juice from 50 to 100 cc early morning. In the beginning she had nausea for juice hence I had to use nasal catheter for giving the juice but afterwards she started taking juice by mouth. In the afternoon she took an extract of Behl (Bell) leaves, Basil (Tulsee) and Bahama-grass (Durva). She was also given wheat milk for meal in the afternoon for 15 days daily, carrot and beetroot juice for dinner.

Within few weeks the patient and her family members started accepting the usefulness of natural food along with other methods of naturopathy. After this treatment for three to four months her blood count improved; RBC went up from 3.5 to 4.91 x 10 power 12-1 WBC came down from 161 to 6.5 x 10 power 9-1 lymphocytes from 17 to 38 percent. Her pale complexion actually turned pink. She is still in good health continuing her chemotherapy along with natural methods as taught to her. Encouraging results were also seen in another case to leukemia with little change in the diet and with the help of some Yogasanas like Pawan Muktasana, Bhujangasana and Shavasana.

Naturopathy can also give relief in breast cancer post massectomy and mammoplasty. In these cases also I have made use of naturopathy as a complementary treatment in the sense to relieve from the side effects of chemo and radio therapy. In fact, two such cases were referred to me by the oncologist himself.

Naturopathy also can be effective in Colon cancer, which is due to poor digestion. there is a poor bowel movement and the accumulated matter after some period is responsible for Colon cancer. One may be surprised to note that in addition to plain water enema, neem enema, special enema of butter milk is very useful in Colon cancer.

The diet for Colon cancer patient should start with Lime juice, ash Gourd juice followed by neem chutney. No milk to be given to the patient till he - she gets regular bowel movements. The treatment also has to be supported with yogasana like vajrasana, Pawan Muktasana and Shavasana.
