MR. A. Singh aged 26 years. Slipped from his scooter and fell into a pit about 10 m deep in Shivalik hills on 8.1.95. Unconscious, no open injury, blue eyes, no bleeding from nose or ear, just a small abrasion observed in right parietal region. Patient was shifted to trauma ward of PGI Chandigarh for CT Scanning, which showed depressed skull fracture in parietal region and contusion of occipital region affecting cerebellum.
We saw the patient on 17.1.95 about 10 days after the accident, still unconscious but can open eyes when shaken; being a Homoeopathic doctor, a friend prescribed Arn 1M-BD. from 10.1.95. We also continued the same medicine and again visited on 23.1.95. Not much improvement but just opens his eyes when called by name in a loud voice. We gave 15 days to Arn without much improvement. Then we decided to change the medicine on the symptoms he had before accident i.e. half open eyes during sleep, also now during unconsciousness, Opium 1M was prescribed. Within 10 minutes he opened his eyes with two tears in them. When I asked him to shake hand, he raised his hands a little, with a slow muttering voice fully conscious and recognised every one of us. After 7 days, we found him in a Neurotic state i.e. violent aggressive mood, cursing and beating everyone who approached him. Shrieking and shouting on sight of people. We prescribed Nux Vomica 1M and 10 M after 7 days much improvement. Today on 10.4.95 when I am writing this case for NJH he is sitting outside my office to offer a brief visit to his work place!.
