Heat Wave in Allahabad .
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1995 Jul / Aug Vol IV No 4.
Rakesh Raj.
In and around Allahabad, we had to combat Heat Stroke - Heat exhaustion cases which affected well over 1000 patients.
With no help from the Government or administration, we formed groups of doctors who went around the city and villages giving ORS sachets and trying to help out by giving health education and medicines.
Still the death toll exceeded 300 patients.
It happened so suddenly, "One person got out of the bus, took a rickshaw, put his hand in his pocket to pay the rickshaw puller and just collapsed" - nothing could be done to save him.
We distributed Belladonna 200 to every body because it is appropriate for sunstroke and has sudden violent effects. We also advocate auxiliary measures.
Anyway thanks to be the Rain Gods now the temperature of 48-49* C has come down to 33-35* C.
