21st Century Homoeopathy
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1995 Jan / Feb Vol IV No 1.
Bansal V P.

Editor: This Authors view of Homoeopathy in the 21st Century fast paced life, stress, tension... taking its toll

Homoeopathy is based on natures law, so principles of Homoeopathy have not changed even after two centuries. But in fifteen years of Homoeopathy practice and experience, I have found that the concept of Homoeopathy has changed a lot.

Mode of Treatment:

In the 21st Century, people will be more inclined towards Homoeopathy. The trend is already favouring Homoeopathy.

Homoeopaths spend much time in case-taking to find out the totality. In the coming years we may lack that much time per patient. Automatically the time for case-taking will be shortened and we may miss some peculiar, characteristic, general and mental symptoms. So we will have to find some other means or basis of prescriptions.

Basis of Prescription:

In 21st Century, prescription will be based on clinical signs and investigations.

  1. Prescriptions based on clinical signs:
Classical Homoeopathy does not give much importance to clinical sings but with DHMS, BHMS training, now young doctors are well acquainted with knowledge of physiology, Anatomy, Pathology and Clinical Medicine. So they will also depend on clinical sings for their prescriptions. I will give certain examples in favour of this view.
    1. Hair Fall
      1. from sides - Phosphorus, Staph
      2. from temples - Kali-carb, Nat-mur
      3. from occiput - Carbo-veg, Chelidonium
      4. from beard - Plumbum, Secale cor
    2. Skin disease-Leucoderma - Arsenic-sulf-flavum, Sepia
Black discoloration - Arsenic-alb, China, Lachesis
    3. Icterus - Chelidonium
    4. Deformed nails - Silicea, Flouric-acid, Graphites.
    5. Saliva trickling fro childs mouth-Merc-sol.
    6. Gold legs - Calcarea-carb,
    7. Gangrene legs - Arsenic-alb, Secale-cor.
    8. Boils - Tarentula-cubensis, Staphylococcus.
    9. Carbuncles - Gun powder.
    10. Warts - Thuja, Calc-carb, Causticum, Sepia.
    11. Pimples - Kali-brom.
    12. Exfoliation of skin - X-ray, Cal-fluor, Kali-sulf.
    13. Callosities - Antim-crud.
    14. Pulse - Show, extra systole - Digitalis
      Fast - Adrenaline, Gelsemium, Thyroidinum.
    15. Blood Pressure - Low - Veratrum-alb.
      High-Baryta-mur, Adrenaline, Aurum-Mur-Nat.
    16. Nasal Polyp - Sanguinaria nitrica.
    17. Enlarged Tonsils - Left - Merc-bin-iod.
    18. Hepatosplenomegaly with anaemia - Chininum-arsenic.

The 21st Century Homoeopath will see the investigation reports and will prescribe like this -
  2. Prescriptions Based on Investigations:
    1. Increased WBC count - Pyrogen.
    2. Leucopenia - Chloramphenicol.
    3. Eosinophilia - Nat-ars, Kali-ars
    4. Widal test Positive - Baptisia.
    5. Mantoux test Positive - Tuber - culinum, Bacillinum, Ars-iod.
    6. Tuberculosis of lung - Stannum-met, Cal-phos, Ars-iod, etc.
    7. ECG changes - ST depression (IHD) - Antim-tart
Bundle branch Block, Heart Block - Digitalisv.
    8. Uraemia - Eel Serum, Plumbum met, Kali-chlor
    9. Nephritis - Kali-chlor
    10. Hepatitis - Chelidonium, Phosphorus
    11. Enlarged Prostate (by ultra-sound) - Thuja, Sabal-ser, Puls
    12. Gall Bladder Stone (by ultra-sound) - Calc-carb, Lyco.
    13. Kidney stone - Sarsaparilla Berberis-vulgaris
    14. Increased blood sugar - Alloxan, Mag-sulf.
    15. Osteoarthritis - Argentum-met
    16. Disc prolapse - Ruta-grav.

Diagnosis of The Patient:

Due to Consumer Forum Act, the increasing education and awareness of patients and of general public, diagnosis of disease and prognosis of case will be prime important and the Homoeopath will have to be very cautious for the same.

Repertorization:

In the 21st Century computerized repertorization will be the in-thing and prescription may be based on mathematical totality rather than similimum. The gist of drugs may not be fully compatible.

Condition of Miasmatic Cases:

Only a few cases will be pure psora. Most of the cases will be complex miasmatic cases. Among these psora-syphilitic (that is Tubercular) cases will be 80 percent and psora-sycosis will be 20 percent of cases.

Treatment of Cases:

In acute cases it will be easy to cure the sick, but as time advances chronic cases will be difficult to be cured.

To treat psora-sycotic cases or primary psora-syphilitic cases is easy. But now-a-days most of the patients are having secondary and tertiary syphilis (example - psora - syphilis or Tubercular miasm). This tubercular miasm is genetically transmitted to new born.

We can not change genes of a patient and hence cure of chronic diseases will be difficult by any system of medicine in 21st Century.

Diet Restrictions:

In 21st Century there will be no restriction in diet regarding garlic, onion, coffee, menthol, clove, asafoetida etc or drug based diet restriction. But one has to follow the restrictions according to disease.

For examples in

  1. Hypertension-Salt.
  2. Diabetes - Sweets and high carbohydrates.
  3. Peptic ulcer - Chillies and fried food.
  4. Rheumatoid arthritis - Sour and cold food.
  5. Tonsillitis and sore throat - Sour and cold food.

Topics for Research:

Research on the following would be carried out -.

  1. Alloxan in diabetes.
  2. Potentised auto-discharges.
  3. Potentised discharges with similar symptoms.
  4. Potentised sulfas for bleeding.
  5. Potentised organo phosphorus compound.
  6. Potentised laser and other rays.
  7. Potentised psoraline in retinal disease.
  8. Potentised nitrofurantion in neuropathy and demyelination.

Please note this is just my Hypothesis and thoughts and imagination, not actual fact.
