Sangeeta Kawad.
She is born into the world
And announces her arrival with her cries
Her mother laughs and smiles
Cause she knows she will cross the miles
She crawls and grows slow and fat as Calcarea or
Grows tall and fast like Phosphorus
She flirts with toys or
Breaks and wants some more
Then comes puberty to take away liberty
Days of rebellion and independence
But what a paradox knows she has talent yet
For movies romantic and affairs clandestine
Genesis of her dreams takes a turn as wedding bells ring
Amenorrhoea, nausea, vomiting comes with pregnancy
Reality seems to be her forte,
Gone are days of foot loose fancy-free
After several winters and springs of her life
Comes again a period of torment and trauma Hot flushes, vertigo, blood pressure and
headaches
A feeling of being unwanted or just inadequate
The turbulent waves rock her mind
What with hormones playing havoc to her kind
Her face withers, hands tremble and lips quiver
The lamp of her life seems a waver
So goes the tale of menopause
Guilt for sin unknown
She hallucinates all alone
Oh! if only she could find some tranquility
Away from worldly affairs she searches serenity.
