The AP Homoeopathic Medical Officers Association held its Annual conference in the beautiful town of Rajahmundry on the banks of the river Godavari.

About 40 Medical Officers have been enrolled as members for the first time as Rajahmundry Homoeopathic College was taken over by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh recently.

Dr. S. Venugopalachary, an MLA and a homoeopath inaugurated the function. He assured full cooperation for the development of homoeopathy in the state. Dr. V.S.R. Prabhu, the Principal of Gudivada Homoeopathic Medical college also graced the function. Dr. D. Baliram was the organizing secretary.

The seminar on Emergencies in Homoeopathy was chaired by Dr. prabhu. Dr. A Rajinder Reddy of Hyderabad opined that all cases of acute gastro-enteritis responded well to Arsenic-alb. He stated that even in emergency the principle of "more the characteristics, better the drug holds good.

Dr. Arjun Kumar stressed the importance of Calendula and Cantharis in wounds and burns in emergencies. Dr. P Madan Mohan Rao shared his experience of Magnesium-phos 6X in cases of acute pneumonia. Dr. R Anand Rao explained a case of toothache due to dental caries in which Lachesis 200 averted the emergency. Dr. Surya Bhagwan, Assistant Professor Rajahmundry Homoeopathic College stressed that without proper diagnosis, mere knowledge of Materia medica would not be of any use in emergencies.

Dr. Praveen Kumar who was also the moderater said that no medicine on earth can cure any illness unless nature helps itself. He quoted a Sanskrit sloka which means - it is the physical body which falls sick - the body is made up of five basic elements and the medicine is as pure as Ganga water and the physician God himself who administered the ganga water. He then explained the limitations of homoeopathy in emergencies and stressed the necessity of diagnosis at various levels.
