Snapshots For Immediate Reliefs
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1994 May / Jun Vol III No 3.
Sanjay Tambe.
Hereunder wish to list some of the invaluable clinical tips compiled from the writings of the master prescribers of yesteryear, specially for combating emergency situations.
These hints are reported after years of experience by those who are in the field. I am of the opinion that a sound knowledge of the basic sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology etc along with thorough understanding of philosophy and grasp of Materia Medica with adequate flavours of these solid snapshots will definitely nurture the required confidence in the tools one has to apply in order to achieve success particularly in incurable conditions.
CYSTITIS:
- Uva-ursi is excellent when cystic and urethral symptoms are due to bladder calculus. The
symptoms being burning, scalding urination when flow of urine stops suddenly as if a stone
had rolled in front of the internal orifice of the urethra. The urine is a mixture of
mucus and blood. The drug seems to diminish inflammatory thickening of the cystic wall and
relieves suffering until the stone can be removed by operation.
Dr. Farrington. - Clinically we have not found Pulsatilla a first class remedy in Cystites, but we have
found it almost always the remedy in Cystic symptoms accompanying pregnancy.
Dr. Farrington. - Aristolochia-clematis is the first remedy in any cystitis or bladder dis-ability.
Dr. Edward Whitmont. - In cystitis, no medicine has been so serviceable for me in cases remarkable for the
great amount of mucopurulent discharge and absence of pain, as Chimaphila.
Dr. Hale. - Cantharis is indicated in acute cystitis more frequently than all other remedies put
together.
Dr. J. N. Kanjilal.
NEPHRITIC COLIC: - The giving of Polyganum-sag 2x for nephritic colic is one of the bright spots in my
work. 3 doses only are necessary generally.
Dr. Boger. - In kidney pain, neglected remedies are Lithium-carb and Ocimum-can.
Dr. E. W. Hubbard.
NEPHRITIS: - Acetic-acid relieves the parched mouth of the people in the terminal stages of Heart and
Kidney diseases.
Dr. R. A. F. Jack. - Iodum especially Natrum-iod (Iodum of Sodium) have in my hand and those of many other
physicians, produced a veritable and durable amelioration not only of the symptoms of
Arteriosclerosis but also of those of Interstitial Nephritis.
Dr. Jousset - We should bear in mind that the elective action of Eel-serum is on Kidney and we can
well assert that if Digitalis is a Cardiac Tonic, the Eels Serum is a Renal Remedy.
Dr. William Boericke. - Eels Serum is specific for Acute Nephritis- a frigory.
Dr. Jousset.
DIURETIC: - Arsenic is our most important Diuretic. It is suitable in all forms of Dropsy, more so
in Dropsy depending upon Heart Disease and Oedema of Lungs. It is equally effective in
Renal Dropsy.
HEMATURIA: - Hamamelis is an excellent remedy for Hematuria.
Dr. Farrington. - Terebinthina covers effectively strangury with Hematuria of nephritis following BURNS.
Dr. C. C. Boericke. - Millefolium has shown excellence as a specific remedy in Hematuria with painfulness of
the Kidney.
Dr. Boehr. - Thalapsi-bursa-pastoris is almost specific for haemorrhage occurring from lithaemia.
Dr. Hale.
DYSURIA: - I have used Triticum-repens for 20 years and declare it to be a splendid medicine in
Dysuria.
Dr. Hale.
RETENTION OF URINE: - Aconite is the principal remedy for retention of Urine in the new born. Hardly any other
will be needed.
Dr. A. D. T. Pullford. - For Urethral Fever ensuing catheterization, Aconite-nap.
Dr. H.C. Allen.
ENURESIS: - Enuresis after Catheterisation use Mag-phos.Dr. Hughes.
- I place implicit confidence in Verbascum as a remedy for incontinence of urine. I made a
proving and one of the most prominent symptom was a constant dribbling from the bladder.
Since that time I have treated many cases of Enuresis, mostly nocturnal, some of which had
resisted years of treatment by old school. I give 3rd attenuation.
Dr. Cushing. - When children with Enuresis are hard to waken in first sleep, Kreosotum will often cure.
Dr. Boenninghausen. - Equisetum has succeeded, as a so called specific for combating habitual Enuresis of
years standing.
Dr. K. Chimthanawala. - In Uremic Convulsions, use Lonicera-xylosteum.
Dr. Blackwood.
