Fishes Rise in Revolt.
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1994 Jul / Aug Vol III No 4.
Sarla Sonawala.
Hell broke in sound and fury at Ocean Pacific
Fishes-one and all, bit and small, of varied kind and hue
Rose in revolt against rule of thumb over centuries long
Of Cuttlefish that lashed with tentacles, poured murky ink
Against simmer of protest ever raised by a fish or two
Of Homoeopathic world of Materia medica Pura
Evermore tongue-tied in presence of an august gathering
Ambra blushed and burped, opened her mouth - could say not a word
Astacus Flu shivered in fever - with urticaria and ailing liver
Asterias-Rubens - star of the show - raised its fist of fury
To claim neuralgia-chorea-hysteria trio, breast cancer a bonanza
Eel-Serum restored the cardiac insufficiency and rhythm of pulse
Erythrinus swayed over syphilis spotted with pityriasis rubra
Homarus howled till grew sore throat, its head throbbed wild
Woke up at midnight to belch and purge after glassful of milk
With promise to allay anorexia alcoholic - phthisis as well
Ichthyolum teased the revered old with cough and gout
As King-crab blushed red when couldnt recall its name Limulus
Medusa magnanimous filled mothers breast with milk abundant
Oleum-jecoris restored the rosy pink of children - phthisical
Rheumatism cutshort before it usurped the heart by Propylamin
Pyrara rolled over multiple Rs before it reached the itchy skin
Terse Trachinus stung with fins until blood defiled
And tissues swelled in gangrene - its pain beyond endurance
Big fish eats small fish - was the verdict: Fishes vs Sepia
Voices raised, abuses hurled at, heads rolled, chaos prevailed
Until Murex grew purple, to mediate and pacify
Each fish was acclaimed for its services to ailing humanity
Materia medica revised - each fish entitled to a new chapter
And at long last, peace was restored at Pacific Ocean.
