Mind:
Starts as a daydreamer with indolent self-complacence and a poetical weltanschang of magnificence with apathy at immediate surroundings, developing ultimately (from drugging, morphinism, inebriacy or stress) into.
A mystic schizophrenic quasi-insanity with ecstatic experiences and sublimation. As if one shakes off his physical existence and becomes one with the cosmic forces with panorama of beauty, grandeur and colorful splendor: a beautiful, blissful beatitude as it were. Normal perceptions of space and time are lost in the superb unearthly drama which he has now joined, is no more an on looker.
Synaesthesia:
Objects of sense of perception (light, colour, sound, smell, taste, touch) substantiate (or embody) themselves, and noise and touch are felt as colours, they pulsate to the rhythm of music form, a colour is felt as a taste. Every sound feels most melodious. Abstract conceptions assume a solid bodily form. The feelings become colours as if. Life itself appears as a great impersonal march towards immortality with extinction of all volition. Soars high in the galaxy. Feels himself as a denizen (and not a mere spectator) of the higher heavenly world with a complete withdrawal of worldly brotherhood, sex or even appetite. He is as if it were outside himself.
A religio-cataleptic state. Reminds one of the fantastic religious and transcendental hallucinations or elation of sufis, vedantins, drinkers of soma juice and our medieval saints like Meera Bai and Narsee Mehta (who claimed to have witnessed or took part in the heavenly ras), which also explains their resigned withdrawal from mundane activities. A retreat from objective reality into inner and innermost depths and recesses of ones personality so rich and colourful that the outer world loses to them all meaning. A state normal yet abnormal also highly represented in prophet Jesus and medieval Christians, saints and mystics.
Head:
Vertigo frontal left sided pains with visual zig-zags. Occipital pain (or migraine) with disturbed vision; persistent ache and a tired feeling there.
Eyes:
Pupils dilated, ptosis, accommodation impaired. Heightened receptivity to blue and green and lowered to red and yellow. Optical defects, specks, stars, threads, etc. Kaleidoscopy and spectroscopy. Shadows deepened, two dimensional appear as three dimensional. "Plastic relief vision." Space orientation lost. All brightness. Powerful visual impressions block up mental functions. Prefers darkness.
Ears:
Misorientation of sounds. Splitting of tones. Tinnitus. Impressions of sound and vision greatly heightened by any marked stimulation of skin.
Nose:
Hyperosmia, air felt filled with some perfume. Later anosmia.
Mouth:
Aversion to facial gestures.
Aphasia, speech difficult from both paralysis of tongue and dementia. Tongue cold, insensible. Everything is tasteless. Thyroid pulsation, pressing in, swelling.
Stomach:
No appetite (in crude doses it is given to allay inordinate hunger and thirst). Nausea aggravated by moving, better lying.
Urogenital:
Frequent urination. Urine contains phosphates. Genitals icy cold. Lowered libido.
Chest:
Shallow breathing. Faintness and bradycardia. Angina pectoris. Heart apprehension in, oppression and constriction (Anhalonium is also a cactus).
Locomotor:
Muscles tremble. A fine tremor in the legs. Precluding the vision. Formication. Numbness. Motor incoordination. Rheumatism sense of position of extremities is lost (another misorientation).
Sleep:
Drowsiness followed by a sense of unusual energy during day with nightly insomnia due to mental erythesm.
Thermic:
A feeling of general coldness as if a cosmic coldness from space penetrated the body. Sweatiness (primarily)_ with headache.
Relations:
Anhalonium-lewinii and Lopophora-williamsii are both cactus and are called Mescal. Their dried tops are called mescal buttons from which a drug Mescaline or peyote is extracted (another mescal is a liquor made from pulque fuerte-fermented juice of an agave the agave americana centura plant or the American alo) provings were from mescaline.
In Lysergic acid the bifurcation of personality is complete. The hallucinations are similar and the Poltergeist syndrome (spectres) is more prominent.
In Datura-arb ideas appear dissociated from his brain which feels as if floating on the sea of problems, a sense of levitation along with similar hallucinations.
Collaterals:
Agaricus (wealth of visual and mental symptoms, euphoria, but is more superficial), Alumina, Anacardium, Asarum, Cocculus, Opium, Stramonium, Zincum.
