March 94 Ahmedabad Seminar.
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1994 Jan / Feb Vol III No 1.
Ketan Patel.

Seminar Reports.

The Gujarat Homoeopathic Foundation organised a one day Seminar in Ahmedabad on Sunday the 27th of March 1994 at the Gajjar Hall near Law Garden. The principal speakers were Dr. Farokh Master and Dr. Jawahar Shah, both from Bombay.

Dr. Farokh Master spoke on the psychiatry of the snake venoms, Homoeopathy in emergencies, keynote prescription and a study of some of the uncommon rubrics of the mind. He spoke on the evolution of the drug pictures of the more uncommon and less understood of the snake venoms like Naja, Elaps, Crotalus-horridus, Cascavella. He used slides to drive home the point that homoeopathy has a lot more to offer in the management of acute problems and emergencies and presented several cases where Homoeopathy was a life savers.

Later, he spoke on keynote prescriptions and uncommon rubrics of the mind and its use in daily practice with examples. He gave hints on the uses of uncommon drugs and the uncommon use of the more commoner remedies. He gave several examples of treated cases from his practice where he had prescribed either on a single characteristic symptom or after careful workup and repertorisation (both manual as well as the extensive use of computer).

Dr. Jawahar Shah spoke on Bronchial Asthma, a subject on which he has a vast experience and research. Starting with a broad explanation on what Bronchial Asthma is, he went on to explain the miasmatic background and its relevance in the Homoeopathic management. He showed a number of cases of asthma which had been successfully treated with Homoeopathic remedies. He stressed the importance of modalities especially positions which aggravate or ameliorate.

The seminar wound up at 6 p.m. with a vote of thanks to both the speakers and to the generous sponsors Hompath, (a user friendly homoeopathic software) and Baksons Drugs and Pharmaceutical (the manufacturer of quality dilutions and tinctures). the entire day having passed indeed too soon for the serious students of Homoeopathy. A well organised first effort by the Gujarat Homoeopathic Foundation, one wishes them an even greater success in future endeavors.
