A two day National Homoeopathic Conference was organized by the Research Society of Homoeopathy at Rajputana Palace Sheraton Hotel, Jaipur on 11th and 12th February 1994. About 600 scientists, Homoeopathic practitioners, teachers and students from different parts of the country participated in the Conference.
The Conference was inaugurated by the Honarable Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, by lighting a lamp and garlanding the portrait of Dr. Hahnemann.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister called upon the Homoeopaths to work towards disseminating Homoeopathy right upto the poor and backward people residing in Indian villages. He then presented the Dr. Hahnemann Memorial Award, 1994 to Dr. B.N. Chakravarti of Calcutta, for his extraordinary contribution in the field of Homoeopathic research, education, treatment, literary works and propagation of the science. In his award acceptance speech, Dr. Chakravarti said that the future of Homoeopathy in India was bright and he was of the firm opinion that Homoeopathy would be the medical system of the 21st century.
In the scientific sessions, several papers were presented on various subjects. In the first session, Dr. D. Rastogi, Director, CCRH presented the paper Research Studies in HIV Infection with Homoeopathic treatment. and referred to the attempts made during treatment of asymptomatic cases of HIV positive to change them into HIV negative.
The other papers presented covered the role of Malaria-officinalis in cases of malaria, role of psychiatry in Homoeopathy, the need for quality control of Homoeopathic drugs, Agro-homoeopathy to deal with plant diseases, treatment of allergies with their various manifestations, treatment of spondylitis and spinal cord problems, the treatment of allergic rhinitis with auto-blood therapy and a doctors liability under the Consumers Protection Act.
Dr. K. H. Matani from Bombay announced that the next conference of the Research Society of Homoeopathy would be organised in Jan / Feb 1995 at Bombay.
On the occasion of this National Conference, a statue of Dr. Hahnemann presented by Dr. N.D. Sindhi of Lucknow was installed in the campus of Dr. M.P.K. Rajasthan Homoeopathic Medical College at Jaipur. The statue was unveiled by Shri Bhanwar Lal Sharma, Minister of Rajasthan at a glittering function.
