Clinical Notes:
I have successfully used Influenzinum in cases of -
- anorexia, malaise, headache since flu.
- Weakness since flu
- Control the pyrexia and febrile convulsions.
Potency of choice : 1000
| P- | Pre-cordial heaviness on slight exertion. |
| I- | Intestinal obstruction in children |
| T- | Tones up the oesterogenic hormones and corpus luteum; delayed puberty, defective development of breast. |

| R- | Retarded general and sexual development. |
| I- | Intestinal colic, regulates peristalsis. |
| N- | Notable spasm-reliever especially in cases of strangulated hernias. |
Notes
- Dr. Ghosh mentions its wonderful action in various colics and spasms, e.g. gallbladder colic, irregular peristalsis and spasmodic dysmenorrhoeas.
- - acts with wonder in 30C for acute spasms and 1000C for neuralgic colics.
Clinical therapeutic
Acne, Abscess, Furuncle.
Impetigo contagiosa. parotiditis.
Mastitis
Phlegm. carbuncle, Mastoiditis.
Empyema. Ecthyma Cellulitis
Pyelo-nephritis. Phlebitis. Lymphadenitis
Pyaemia. Oedema. Endocarditis
Valvulitis. Aortitis.
Onset: Subacute and chronic problems.
Characteristics:
History of staphylococcin infection.
Succession of abscesses.
Recurrent staphylococcal lesions over a long period of time and when the staphylococcal
lesions are wide-spread viz
- Recurrent widespread acne
- Recurrent mastitis
- Recurrent carbuncles
- Recurrent conjunctivitis
- Widespread oedema
Special Clinical Notes:
Acute and chronic cases of bacillary dysentery with discharge of blood and
pus.
It acts best when the ailment comes during the rainy season and continues
upto late autumn.
In chronic cases of dysentery where blood with mucopurulent discharges
does not respond to the indicated remedy or recurrs or prolongs unduly, Staphylococcin 200 rescues such a case. A dose of anti-psoric can be
given to complete the cure.
In typhoid where there is a low sepsis, haemorrhage and mucopurulent stool
with fever towards the third week, Staphylococcin rescues such
cases.
In varieties of staphylococcal infections.
It may be of interest to know that in the making or extraction of this
medicine, the writer Dr. E.A. Anshultz was compelled to get out of the room due to an
undefined malaise. The odour, aroma or effluvium was ambrosial compared to the atmosphere
of the dissecting room with its lumps of putrefaction but it had much greater expellant
power not nauseating but sickening and chemically probably due to some of the fatty acids.
Staphylococcin works best where weakness of the protective mechanism or debility due to other bacterial agencies eg overwork, worry, lack of proper food, humidity, etc. is prominent.
Special caution:
In cases of furuncles, abscess, etc. - the bacteriological examination of
blood tissues is a must before the use of the toxin.
Clinical case:
A case of anal fistula with creamish white putrid discharge of years
standing was not responding to any line of therapy. The blood sugar was normal. Staphylococcin 200C gave a miraculous result. The main indication
being a prolonged staphylococcal infection.
Potency: 200c, 1M, 10M
E. Streptococcin:
Clinical Therapeutics
Ailments after history of streptococcal infection.
Blood dysentery (Bacillary).
Diptheria
Scarlet fever
Vaccination
Measles
Tonsillitis
Chorea
Rheumatism
Chronic phase of Serum sickness
Anti-febrile actions.
Septic symptoms in infectious diseases.
Onset: Streptococcin is
generally used for more acute cases; sudden onset.
Characteristics: History of rheumatic fever (Ref. Dr.
Tyler and Dr. Foubister)
Weepy
Consolation aggravates
Better in open air
Streptococcin has rheumatic symptoms indistinguishable from Rhus-tox and other remedies which one might expect from its
pathological relation to Pyrogen.
Worse in wet weather.
Worse on beginning to move, better from subsequent motion.
For various ailments after tonsillectomy when the patient is thin, dark
below the eyes, no appetite, thirstless; Streptococcin in such
cases gives wonderful results.
In dysentery with excessive hemorrhage and high fever and toxaemia Streptococcin
should be thought of.
Tonsillitis followed by chorea, even rheumatism with a history of rheumatic heart disease
in childhood calls for Streptococcin.
Modalities:
Aggravation from consolation, from first motion, in wet weather
Amelioration in open air, during continued motion.
Special clinical notes.
Chronic phase of serum sickness.
Acute bacillary dysentery with haemorrhage and high fever with toxaemia. The more the
blood, the better it is indicated like Mercury. But there is
no tenesmus or urinary complications of Mercurius in Streptococcin.
Dr. S.K. Ghosh suggests its use during dry summer time when he does not
get good results with - Sulphur, Selenium and Arsenic-hydr.
In varieties of Streptococcal infection.
In various types of haemorrhages especially from uterus, when the
indicated remedy fails.
High rise of temperature with tachycardia.
Severe throat pain with inflammation but without pus. Constitutional
symptoms like weakness, headache, and bodyache. Strawberry tongue (white coated and raised
papillae)
Clinical Tips:
- Ancestral tip - Streptococcin 200 or 1000C (according to
susceptibility) has the power to control the high rise of temperature and prevent febrile
convulsions in children (compare - Acetanilidum)
Appearance - Fair, slender, very sensitive - Low resistance to cold
- Lymphoid tissue hypertrophy
- Unhealthy dry skin eruptions
- Recurrent bilious attacks
- Tuberculous diathesis
- Disseminated sclerosis after suppression of tonsillitis
Potency of choice : 200C, 1M, 10M
It occupies a midway position between Phosphorus and Psorinum.
