Gymna Cladus Case
A farmer aged 75 suddenly developed violent stitching pains over the right hip, extending downward to the bladder. There was constant urging to urinate, fear, restlessness and profuse sweat, with each paroxysms of pain. This condition had already lasted for several days. The remedy was not very clear to my mind but I ventured upon Aconite which eased the pain for a few hours after each dose, but no real progress was made. A very significant new symptom - a blue tongue appeared. It was the latest and therefore the most vital symptom. He was given a dose of Gymna-cladus 6 every four hours but after the second dose all the pain disappeared and only great weakness remained.

Lachnanthes Tinctoria
(Extract from clinical cases of E Case, MD)

"January 18, 1892 C / O Miss T aged 27 years, a brunette,
Muscular soreness, as if bruised
Weariness, as if very tired.
Hands and feet cold.
Eyeballs sore to touch; it hurts to turn them
Photophobia

The bridge of the nose feels as if it was pinched. Lachnanthes 200 four doses, at two hourly interval.
The peculiar symptom of the nose disappeared at once. A speedy recovery followed without further treatment".

Dr. Case adds "This case attests the danger of ruining our materia medica by throwing out the chaff. The nasal symptom - as if the nostrils were pinched is not found in guiding symptoms.

Allens Encyclopaedia contains it with a foot note". The proven when a child had fallen and broken the nasal bones which had partly suppurated and left an indentation.

However Boerickes Materia Medica lists this peculiar symptom in the drug picture p. 390.

Ptelea Trifoliata
R.E.B. Age 40 had the following symptoms

1. Because of large and numerous black stools, the patient became weak and pale with faintness. Formerly he was large and robust. Several prescribers had failed but no X-ray had been taken. The X-ray (which I demanded) showed quite a large ulcer at the pyloric end of the stomach.
2. Attacks of vertigo with shortness of breath followed by nausea and fainting; during attack the head throbs, < on exertion and face became pale.
3. Throbbing in right ear.
4. Dry mouth and throat, drinks little and often.
5. Aching in calves on walking or exertion.
6. Slow pulse
7. Drowsiness
8. Sensitive to cold.
9. History of typhoid twice.
