Aranea Diadema:
- This drug acts as a general sedative, promotes quietness and sleep in cardiac affections, asthma, pthisis and other irritative conditions (Dr. Hughes).
- The patient feels exceedingly well on a bright, sunny day. Nothing goes amiss with him so long as he stays away from moisture, cold and dampness. As soon as the weather becomes cold or rains commence or he goes to a damp swampy place, the troubles come out in swarms. In the list of abnormal sensitiveness to damp and cold places, Aranea is at the top.
Both the above symptoms make this drug a great remedy in malarial fevers.
The toothache of this remedy is peculiar. It starts as soon as the patient
goes to bed at night.

Tarentula-Cubensis:
- "This remedy soothes the suffering of the dying patient as I have never seen any other remedy do". - Dr. Kent.
- "In felons, this remedy is simply wonderful. I have seen felons which had kept patients awake night after night, walking the floor in agony from the terrible pains, so relieved in a short time that they could sleep in perfect comfort, until the swellings spontaneously discharged and progressed to a rapid cure". - Dr. Nash.
- "I used the drug Agaricus in a case of typhoid, in which the child rolled her head and bit her night gown. Some improvement followed. Tarentula was later given with a slight aggravation followed by lasting improvement. The two should be remembered in impending imbecility". - Dr. E.A. Farrington.
- "I think, Tarentula-cubensis is more useful in whooping cough than Ipecac
or Castaneavesca or any other remedy I know; it is marvellous. - Dr. Macfarlan.
(It is interesting to know that Dr. Kent lists this remedy under Paroxysmal cough in his repertory (799) and gives it the highest grade.) - "Hepar-sulph, Belladonna, Arnica and Silicea are of no use in those cases of chronic boils and carbuncles, which drag on under these remedies which early homoeopaths advised, but Tarentula-c or Anthracinum will clear up the boils in a few days brilliantly and miraculously". - Dr. Dorothy Shepherd.
- "I always maintain that Tarentula-cubensis given in exceedingly small doses, in an object lesson and a proof of the truth of homoeopathy - like cures like. The spider bite is followed by a boil, which in another individual is cured by the spider in the minutest dosage, the 6th potency, 12th potency or the potency I usually give, the 30th, given for a few days until the boil is gone". Dr. Dorothy Shepherd in More Magic of the Minimum Dose Pg. 134.
"Give this drug for vertigo and nausea with the abscess of the liver". - Dr. Lippe2. "In rachitis, carries and necrosis Theridion apparently goes to the root of the evil and destroys the cause". - Dr. Baruch
